Mod Squad - Wheels

When I went to check out the Mod Squad challenge this week and saw that it was wheels and that Kitchen Sink Stamps is their sponsor this week, I pulled out my KS classic truck. I used my distress oxide inks to stamp and sponge my card.

Tuesday Throwdown #356

This is for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge. Just a little invite to get the girls together. A night for our mental health!!! I used an image from Unity Stamps and the sentiment if from Kitchen Sink stamps. I just used a direct from pad method to put on the color. An easy to make invitation for that special group of friends. Add a few sequins and we are ready to party!!

CCEE1646 Bears

 Frances is again our fabulous hostess with another challenge. 

Yesterday 16th November was "Have a Party with Your Bear Day". So to celebrate, let's feature bears on our cards this week.

I used Kitchen Sink stamps for my card this week. The multilayering of the stamps help make this little fuzzy bear so lifelike. I added the punched flower as his offering of love, and tried to create a soft sky background.  I made a big bow with seam binding for the final touch. Hope he brings someone a little love. 

Just Add Ink #272

This multilayered butterfly is a stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The fern is from a retired Stampin' Up set, and the sentiment is from Verve. This card is made for the Just Add Ink Challenge #272.  The minute I saw the challenge was to stamp a butterfly, I could not resist the challenge!

Tuesday Throwdown 169 - Pumpkins

This is for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge #169, which is to use pumpkins. I got out my Kitchen Sink Stamps' pumpkin set. Kitchen Sink Stamps are uniquely designed to stamp 3 or 4 layers to give the image a photographic look. They are so realistic looking and Maria does some amazing images that capture the actual look of what they are. If you have never used these multi-layered stamps, you should give it a try.They are fun and you will be amazed at the results. My sister, Lynn who you might know as Allee's over on Splitcoaststampers, is a real master at these types of stamps and uses them in most of her stamped cards.
Hope everyone is enjoying some of the wonderful things fall brings. I especially love orange so the fall colors are breathtaking to me. Happy fall, Y'all!

CAS(e) This Sketch 48

Since it is Breast Cancer Awareness month and in honor of the friends of mine who have had to battle this fight, I made a survivor card. Click the sketch to link over to the Case This Sketch blog.

The stamps I used are from Kitchen Sink Stamps and stamped  in angel pink in (Memento), pretty in pink (SU) and tuxedo black (Memento).

Shades of grey

For the Less is More challenge 127 Shades of Grey. I used this fabulous multi-layered stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps. Added a few score lines to the simple card, and added the sentiment I found to be most appropriate for this challenge.

Make My Monday Challenge - summer scene

I just got this new Kitchen Sink multi-layered palm tree stamp set last week, so thought it would be perfect to use for a summer scene for the Make My Monday challenge. I used an old retired SU circle stamp for the sun, and a SU speckle stamp for the sand. I did some direct to paper from my tear drop Memento teal pad for the ocean. I sponged the sky. The sand dollar is a cuttlebug diecut. I used a bermuda bay cardstock for the mat. The sentiment is from Flourishes and the seam binding is from The Cat's Pajamas. It's plenty hot in Texas for these first days of summer. Hope you are enjoying your summer wherever you are!

My new stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps seemed just perfect for this masculine challenge for the CCEE 1325 challenge this week. I used a scrap of striped dp on my ivory card base and then multi-layered this guitar and cut it out to add to the front. This sentiment is part of this set.  I love this guitar that looks so much like my own. Maria, the creator of KSS let her design team suggest a stamp for her latest releases. This one is the one my sister, Lynn suggested. Music has always been a big part of our life and this stamp is just awesome.

The CCEE challenge this week is to use winged things. Butterflies are some of my favorite winged things, so I did some multi-layered stamping  for this special card. I masked them and stamped the leaves. I added little mini flowers punched from a Creative Memories punch. I have a friend who needed a birthday card for her very special aunt who is having a birthay this month. She wanted me to make to make her one, so this is it.

October Challenge for COF

Wow, the end of the month caught me off guard today, I guess because it was Halloween. Sharon gave us a wonderful challenge for our end of the month challenge with our crafters of faith group. The scripture she selected is from 1 Thes. 5:16-18 -"Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." She challenged us to make a Thanksgiving card or a card of thanks for someone who has been a blessing to me. I have to say my COF friends have been a blessing to me this year. I was the  leader of a spiritual retreat at a Women's prison in September, and these wonderful women prayed for me and the women who were participants and also for my team members. The weather was unusually hot and we endured an un-airconditioned gym for 3 days, but I think these women realized that nothing was going to stand between them and God's love for them. We had 40 women attend and they have been faithfully returning each week to stay connected as a Christian community by attending our prayer and shares and the reunions. Thank you, COF friends, as these prayers were so very special to us all and are the soul of the weekend.

I was delighted to find this scripture from Deuteronomy as the featured scripture today on Word Art Wednesday. The pear is a multi-layered stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps. Isn't it amazing how when we put the love of God first in our lives, there seems to be less of me and a new joy in sharing that love with others.
This is one of those scriptures that remind us it is not about me because I am giving God my all. And He is my all in all. Like a song I love says, "He is my strength when I am weak, He is the treasure that I seek, He is my All in All. When I am down, He picks me up, when I am dry, He fills my cup."

Such words of hope are found in this scripture found in Jeremiah 29:11. The zinnias are from Kitchen Sink Stamps. They are done in 5 layers stamped on top of each other. The patterned paper for the background is from Basic Grey. The butterflies I made with my Martha Stewart punch. I added a button and some ribbon.

I have a wonderful, talented sister, Lynn, who every weekend dreams up some fabulous 10 Minute wonder to use as her 10 minute challenge card for the week. She doesn't just do one card. She comes up with 4 fabulous cards for each of these designs. She is amazing. She is also the one that  brought me into this world of stamping. Although I will never reach the heigths of her talents, I know I have as much fun stamping as she does, and that's where it is for me. She is also the master of the Kitchen Sink multi-layered stamps, which are truly a unique way to get a photographic quality of these fabulous images.  I hope you will visit Lynn's blog at least every Monday to see what the challenge is for the week. Belli Challege #144-A wedding card

I finally got around to making a wedding card for the Belli Challenge today. The old embellishment that has been hoarded away is that corduroy brad I used for the center of my flower. This is a stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps. This is a six layered image and any multilayering over 4 steps is a big stretch for me.. I used rich cocoa and desert  sand for my ink colors. The very last layer I used tuxedo black stamped off once. The design paper is from Graphic 45. The punch is from EK and the diecut from MFT. The card base is chocolate chip cardstock.  I wanted to do something a little out of the ordinary for my wedding card, so I went for the vintage look.

The sky is not falling

The sky is not falling, it's just time for a chick's night out for some fun!!! The challenge over at Less is More was to use yellow. I thought immediately of this little chick from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The little yellow sequin confetti just added a little fun and covered a few smudges (I have to admit). I always say that a few little mistakes simply means its time for a few embellishments!!!!!The chick was multi layered with so safron and more mustard inks. F4A117 Vellum and CCEE1220

I did this card for two challenges. For the Free for All challenge on Splitcoaststampers this week we were to use vellum. So I dry embossed the vellum to make it quallify for the CCEE1220 challenge as well. I also used my new cameo multilayered stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps that arrived yesterday in the mail. All the embellishments are diecuts from Spellbinder and My Favorite Things. It was fun getting to start the morning in the stamproom for a change today!!!!

Queen for a day-Queen Mary

I love taking the photo of my card in front of my computer screen when I am doing a case card. Mary,who was selected Queen for the Day this week had this lovely card on the left in her gallery. Since I just got my new stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps today in the mail, I had to put some ink on this fabulous multi layered pear! My sister, Lynn is just the master of these Kitchen Sink stamps and does such wonderful layering in her perfect cards. I keep trying and have learned a lot of pointers from her. Maria, the creator of this fabulously unique way of stamping makes these images stamp like they are actual photographs. It is just amazing. If you have never worked with a Kitchen Sink Stamp, it's time to give it a try. You will be amazed at the spectacular images that you can create.

 I did this card for the fall challenge going on over at Kitchen Sink Stamps. I used Memento inks with the squirrel set from Kitchen Sink Stamps.
