The land of the creative

I've been working really hard in my stamproom the past few days to unload a bed that is going to a new home so I will have more room for my addiction and its paraphernalia. I use "lazylizard" as my name over on Split Coast Stampers, so I decided to design a sign to mark my room. I'll get back with you next week to let you see how the room turns out after this major overhaul.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #61

Today's challenge was to use sparkle on your card. I had some glittered design paper scraps left from a previous project so I used them as my sparkles. I also added some red sparkly brads. I love MFP's Poppies, Poppies, Poppies stamp. I used my copic markers for coloring and Tuxedo Black for the stamping.

This week's Belli Challenge

This week's challenge for the Belli Challenge was to use something that starts with letter G. So, here's my guy in the gray hat with a guitar!! This stamp is from Deadbeat Designs and one of my favorites. The Texas is a paper punch and I punched the star out and added an old forgotten star shaped brad. The background on the tan cardstock base was embossed with an inked paisley embossing folder to make it look like a tooled leather background. Maybe he is singing praises for the rain we got in some parts of Texas today. Keep our farmers and ranchers in your prayers and all those whose homes are being threatened by the brush fires we are having.

CAS 124 a day late

I don't make tall cards very often but I had fun with this one since I used an old forgotten stamp, a new diecut I just got yesterday, and a simple sentiment that goes great with everything from Mark's Finest Papers.
I stamped with an old retired SU set called Little Shapes (I think it was called) in baja breeze, lilac, and pear tart inks. The diecut is from My Favorite Things. I stamped the MFP's sentiment in tuxedo black.  I'll have to save this card for when I have a lot to thank for. It will be the perfect size.

10 minute card for KSS challenge

My wonderful sister, Lynn is such a wiz with those Kitchen Sink Stamps and hosts the 10 minute challenge over on their site. I however am not a wiz and cannot do any of the layering in 10 minutes, but KSS sends these adorable little stamps along with their orders that I find I can do in 10 minutes. I'm using up some scraps around my stamproom for this one. I am still trying daily to keep up with my new year's resolution to make a card using only scraps from the scrap pile. I have to confess not every daily card has used scraps on the entire card, but I have managed to use at least a piece or two from the piles. I even have already cut and scored card base pieces in one drawer. I hate to say I have not seen a huge difference in the size of the piles, but I keep trying!! LOL It's another hot, steamy day in Texas (expected to hit triple figures today) and a perfect day to stay in the airconditioning and stamp and working on those piles to deplete!!

Speedy's Challenge #59

Here's my card for Speedy's the Cat's Friends' Blog challenge. The challenge is to do a Father's Day card.
I used All Aboard, scraps from my scrapbox, and some Basic Grey design paper. The sentiment is from another MFP set.

I live on the Texas Gulf Coast and in any shell shop I have ever visited, I have seen little angels made from shells found along the beach. I decided this would make a unique little card making use of this shell stamp that is in this terrific set: Sand, Surf, Relax. Visit these wonder blogs that include even more cards  made by this selection of MFP's Design Team.

For Speedy's Saturday challenge

This is for Saturday's Speedy Challenge to use paper flowers on your card. The stamp is from MFP's cupcake birthday! I just love paper piecing the cupcake wrapper to match the dp I am using. I colored it with my copic markers.

Flutterby Wednesday

I did this card for the Flutterby Wednesday challenge. The lily is part of a new set called Floating Along, which will be released next week.  The butterfly is from a Mark's Finest Paper set from last spring, as there was not a butterfly as part of this set.

The design papers used are from Basic Grey.  After coloring this with copic markers I went over it with a sparkle pen to add a little glimmer. The  punch I used is from Martha Stewart.
