This week's color challenge used going gray, basic gray, and yo yo yellow. I've never used this color combo before, but I was really surprised how much I liked it. I used two of the new hostess sets from the latest Stampin' Up catalog and used the berries from the new set called Always. I loved the look from the sanded background stamp. I honest to goodness got up at 5:15 AM, checked to see what the colors for the challenge were, and then had this card finished by 5:45AM. I gave this the title of "Yo Yo on the Go Go" because I hadn't even bathed or gotten dressed yet. I had to get dressed for work and make my 45 minute commute to work and I still made it to work by 7:20AM. All of these stamps were still laying out on my stamping table from earlier projects, so I just put some of them together on this card. I plan to use that berry stamp a lot, because I can see lots of possiblities for it.

It soon with be rodeo season here in the Houston area so thought I'd make a few cards to put me in the mood for this great event. Here's one of the ones I've created using a new design paper I found at my favorite local scrapbook store, Scrapbook Village in Missouri City, Texas. It's by Priscilla Mullins and I think it's perfect for SU's new star punch. I've also gotten really hooked into the 5.5 x 5.5 inch square cards. If I'm going to send unique cards, I might as well pay the extra postage I reckon!!

Chocolate was a requirement on this challenge Saturday, but all I could find in my pantry and around my house was this bar of Nestle's premium white dipping chocolate. So, I used it anyway, and wrote this little poem. The scallop stamp used is one of the new sale-a-bration sets. The scallop punch fits it perfect. I think this is one everyone will love.

Now is the time to start your Valentines. This is a 6 x 6 inch square card for that extra special someone!! I think the purely pomegranate makes a beautiful color to use for Valentine's Day. The design paper is from Basic Grey.
