CAS ology #80

Although I live in an area that receives no snow in the winters, I know some of my fellow countrymen have experienced much more than usual perhaps and definitely colder temperatures for long periods of time. I have seen so little snow in my life, that I can count it on my hands. So it is always fascinating to me and I love snowflake patterns. I left the negative spacing on this embossed cardbase so that I could add a little purple to it from underneath. I kept my embellishments simple and purple. Check out the other cards taking part in this challenge over on CAS ology. There is no stamping on this card or ink.

CCEE 1405

U is for Umbrella and I got to use a stamp that has not seen any ink. I found this on a clearance sale months ago, and can't ever resist a marked down House Mouse stamp. I also am using this as card # 28 for the 100 cards in 100 days. I am a few cards short of where I should be at this point, but plan to get some catching up done this evening.

ODBDSLC188

The challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs is to use pink, red, and white. I'm sure this is for Valenitine's Day, but I decided to step out of the box and use this lighthouse stamp that I haven't even used before. I decided a red and pink sunset would be perfect as my colors for this, so I gave it a try. Even though pinks are used, this could easily be a masculine card because of the nautical theme. The only embellishment I used was the strip of ribbon at the bottom of the card. Makes for an easy to mail card, as well.

FTTC256

I love my floral stamps designed by Marcella Hawley for Flourishes. When I saw what the challenge was today, I knew I would have to use one of her gorgeous stamps, and this orchid just seem to fit the challenge perfectly.
I embossed the lighter purple panel and then rubbed white craft ink over the top of it. The image is colored with copic markers, and I added some pretty lace and pearls for the only added embellishment.

HMFMC#162

"Showing some LOVE" is the theme for the House Mouse challenge this week. I love this sweet stamp and thought it meets the criteria . Found all these scraps and even the card base in my sraps left from other projects. All the things used for making this card are from the stashes in my stamp room, so this also meets the requitements I set for my 100 cards in 100 days challenge over on SCS.

In memory of Charlene Merrick

The card to the right of my card in this photo is the beautiful card I found in Charlene's SCS gallery.
It was on SCS that I came to know Charlene and admire her beautiful work. This gorgeous card inspired me and I have that Martha Stewart punch and have never used it like this as a see through type of card. Charlene, your work will still be inspiring us and I have spent this week thinking of you. What a privilege it is to make a card honoring you and your remarkable talent!

Below is the picture that inspired my card. I love white on white cards, so I selected this beautiful white dining room as my inspiration for this scripture from Our Daily Bread Designs. Check out the fun over on ODBD's blog.

Thanks, ODBD for selecting my card as one of the winners for the week. I love your challenges and I love your stamps.

Fresh Made Sketch #120

This is for the Fresh Made Sketch #120 this week. Busy making Valentines to sell to my friends to raise money for the prison ministry I take part in.  The flowers are from Flourishes, and the sentiment from Stampin' Up.

Red Wagon Challange 221

This is for this week's Red Wagon Challenge to make a Clean and Simple card. Since I used old stamps and things I have in my stashes, I used this for the 100 cards in 100 days challenge over on Splitcoaststampers. This is my 22 nd card for the challenge (about a fifth of the way through). The heart stamp is from a retired set from Stampin' Up, and the flower is from Verve.  I stamped both of these stamps onto designed paper and the fussy cut them out. I attanched them with dimensionals. The background was embossed with this Siffix folder.

HMFMC #161

The challenge over at House Mouse Fabulous Monday Challenge is to use a HM stamp from your collection that you have not used. I don't know why this one has not seen ink, but it was perfect for a card to add to my 100 cards in 100 days. goal I have set for myself. This is my 21st card since I started this challenge in January.  I colored the image with copic markers. The design paper is from Graphics 45 and the ribbon from my stash seemed to coordinate really well.

MOJO 329

Loved this week's sketch for the MOJO 329 challenge. The stamps I used are from Verve. I am using up design paper scraps left over from previous projects. I embossed the black card base.

CAS on Sunday #25

Here is my CAS card for the CAS on Sunday challenge this week to do a love card.
I embossed the white cardstock base then added a puffy heart sticker and ribbon to it. Pretty clean and simple yet the embossing and puffy heart added a little dimension to it. I love making Valentines and hope to spend the week making and designing many more.

MOJO 253 and PP177

This card is for the MOJO #253 challenge for Verve and the Paper Players challenge #177. I am counting it as my #9 card for my committment to the 100 cards in 100 days challenge as well. The Paper Players challenge was to use the chalkboard technique. I used a Verve stamp, and scraps of cardstock and design papers from my scrap pile.

ODBDSLC184

Finally getting back into doing some of my favorite challenges. I had too many personal little projects going getting ready for Christmas that I had to let some of them go by the wayside until Christmas was over. Setting into the new year now trying to accomplish some of my stamping resolutions that I have in place to reduce the paper piles in my stamp room. Also I hope to use up some of the stash piles, to make use of some older stamps I haven't used in a while, and to make use of at least one tool and punch on every card I make. I have all this stuff, and I need to be able to justify all the money I have spent. I use to rationalize by saying just think of the hundreds of things I can do with this stamp, this punch, or this tool, and too often I may have used them only about a half dozen times!!!

This card is for the ODBDSL challenge 184 which you can find here.

CCEE1401

I guess hearing that Charlene Merrick lost her physical battle to cancer today led me to want to do the CCEE challenge this week. Charlene, although I never got to meet her in person, crossed my path back in my earlier days on Splitcoaststampers and became an instant cyber friend. I loved coming to do the challenge over at CCEE because of the friendly design team they had. I also loved Charlene's work she did for Rubbernecker stamps. She will be missed greatly.

The challenge was to use bears, something old, and something new on the card. The bear stamp is my old thing as is some of the old scraps of design paper I used on this. The new thing is the sentiment stamp which I received yesterday as my prize from the Hope You Can Cling To challenges back in October over on SCS. Ironic, that this challenge was for making cards for those who are suffering with cancer and how fitting to use this for this card I have done because of the sweet memories I will always have of Charlene. I never got to meet her in this life, but I know I will find her at the great Reunion when I too "go home." Hugs to the design team over at CCEE. Find comfort in knowing many of us feel the same loss you do.

MOJO 326

I have made a stamping resolution for myself this year. I am going to participate in the 100 cards in 100 days challenge over on Splitcoaststampers. I am using these as my goals: the cards included in this group will be made from supplies  in my paper stashes, especially my scrap piles that I have so spent the evening sorting into some sort of organized system.  I will use design paper scraps that were left from previous cards, and I will use some of my older stamps. I do like to use my Verve stamps on the Mojo challenge, so this is one of my oldest in my Verve collection.
