Inspirational challenge 151 - only stamping

Sitting here with a bummed knee, waiting for freezing weather to head in here tomorrow, home alone, and looking for some inspiration to stamp. Browsing the internet, I checked up over at Paper Playful to see what challenges were posted for today. I found the inspirational challenge #151 to use only stamping on your card. I headed straight to the stamproom to see what I could come up with. I pulled out some old SU background stamps ( oh, how I loved those when I bought them years ago) and they are just the stamps to go to for background stamping. Then I pulled out this image and sentiment from Unity and thought this looked a little like I felt---cold and pondering the new year.

Just as in any year 2017 held some sad times and some great, and  the highlight of the year was the Astros winning the World Series. So I am sure 2018 will have its highs and lows as well, but I am feeling very blessed that my faith gives me great hope in all things. So, I hope in 2018 holds great and wonderful things for all, and we find our strength if times get rough, and we realize there are more things alike about us all than is different. LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

You can check out that challenge HERE.

CCEE1750

Joanne is finishing out our challenges this year with the challenge to make a Christmas card using one of our favorite Christmas stamps. This is a retired Stampin' Up stamp from 2002 and has always been my favorite. I hope you join us in this our last challenge of 2017, and add your card to Mr. Linky over on the CCEEstampers blog. If you post it to SCS please use the CCEE1750 as your keyword.

I hope all of our followers have a wonderful Merry Christmas and that is 2018 is full of hope for a new year that offers new opportunities to share your love for humankind.

ccee1749 Christmas carol

Welcome to this weeks challenge. At this silly time of the year do you find yourself singing or humming to a song that you have heard. For our challenge this week, take your inspiration from any Christmas Carol.

Music is definitely one of my favorite parts about the season. Since I didn't see that anyone made a card to represent the first ones who provided music on that glorious night we celebrate, I decided to hunt down one of my favorite angel stamps to make this card. I used ivory paper, embossed the card base, and then cut the gold pieces used out of some design paper scraps left by my paper cutter.  I colored the image with soft colors of copic markers. I added a few pearls as a simple embellishment.

Hope you choice to join in on the fun this week by loading a card over on the cceestampers blogsite
and add ccee1749 as your keyword.

Zentangled Christmas tree

I found this interesting challenge over at Unstampables Challenge this week on Paper Playful's blogsite. I love to zentangle and haven't had time to do much over the last month or so, and this seemed like a perfect day to just stop and do it for this challenge. It was fun to take part in a new challenge to me, and take a break from the traditional styles of cards that have been consuming my time. Hope you take a little time to just break free from your usual routines, and have a little fun with something.

You can find the Unstampables Challenge HERE.

Christmas and Sparkle - Rubbernecker challenge #23

I have a son who played a tuba so when I found this tuba from Rubbernecker, I just had to have it. I decided I would make it Christmas-like and sparkly for this challenge and put in yet one more card for the challenge uploads. I tried using silver metallic pens for coloring it, but ended up just using some of my gray copic markers.  You can see the details of the challenge and the entries HERE.
