Stripes and strips

When I saw that the challenge was stripes on the Through the Purple Haze Challenge today, I decided this card I had made for the Ways to Use challenge using a herringbone technique as my background for this card. I used Unity stamps and did a little paper piecing as well. You can find the Through the Purple Haze challenge here. http://throughthepurplehazechallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

In the pink challenge-Special occasion

Actually, I used this card for two challenges today. One was for the Ways to use challenge on Splitcoaststampers, and the other was for the In The Pink Challenge to use pink on a celebration card. This is a birthday card, and balloons are always a sign of a celebration. Could be for anniversary as well. The stamps are from Unity stamps. I made the background out of all my pink scraps to make a herringbone pattern for the background.

CCEE Fairies

This week is Frances' last challenge for June, and with June 24th being Fairy Day, she asked us to use a fairy.  I used this stamp that has been in my collection for awhile and I have never used it. I colored it with copic markers, and used design papers for the background of the card.  So, find your favorite fairy stamp and join in the fun this week with CCEEStampers. Post your card over at CCEEStampers and if you post your card on SCS please use the keyword CCEE1726.

Check over at the CCEEStampers blog site to see all of the team's cute fairies they have shared.

Power Poppy's Power and Spark June challenge

Just doing one more card for the Power and Spark challenge this month on Power Poppy.'s blog. .
Working with digitals is so fun on the computer layering and overlapping this is so much easier than all the masking you have to do when stamping. I actually printed this twice, once on the kraft and once on the ivory. I cut the quote out from the ivory and placed it over where it was on the kraft. I used a white galaxy pen for the white and to lighten the flowers on the kraft paper before I colored it with my copic markers. I sponged the edges with walnut stain distress ink.

SOS309

What a wonderful sketch this was on Splitcoaststampers challenge today. I am also doing this for this week's Shopping Our Stash challenge of Summer Fun. Loved this paper and pretty colors for summer, and who doesn't love those fun summer beverages with the added slices of fruit and the little umbrellas.
This cute stamp is from Unity Stamps. I have lots of friends with summer birthdays, so I made this card for my birthday stash. I made use of desgn paper scraps left on my paper cutting table, and even found that vellum in the mix. That paper punch reminds me of a fan to keep cool with over the hot summer too.

You can find the SOS challenge here  and the Sketch Challenge for SCS here.

So whatever your plans for the summer: stay cool, have fun, and be safe!!

CC EE1725

Hi everyone,

It's Frances here with our new  challenge for you all this week.

Yesterday was World Music Day; Music Day and Make Music Day .... so let's include something music related on our cards this week.

If you would like to play along, don't forget to come back here and post a link to your card on the Mr Linky over at the CCEEStampers blogsite that can be found here. Check out the team's cards while you are there.

For my card, I used a stamp from Layers of Color. I also used an embossing folder that I inked with amber fossil oxide distressed ink. The pretty design paper I found in my stash of hoarded paper. Loved the little gold spots on it. I added some punched butterflies with pearled bodies.

My three challenge card

I have been having such fun with my Oxide Distress inks. This time I used them on a piece of design paper that looked like ledger paper. I did some subtle stamping of a smaller image with butterflies from Unity with these same ODIs, then added the scripture (from Sweet and Sassy stamps) and the diecut butterfly and image from ODBD. I added the diecut leaves and punched flowers as my final embellishment. I went over the butterfly wings with a sparkle pen, although it doesn't show up so well in the photo. I am using this in the following challenges this week:
The Mustard Seed Faith challenge - to use birds, butterflies, or Natural scene
Simon Says challenge - to used patterned papers either printed or handstamped
Mod Squad Challenge - use many colors.

I created this background paper on a piece of design paper, and liked the way it turned out. After the stamping and colors were done, I glued it to a light blue card base.

Another MSC Make a Square

I just had to do another Power Poppy card for the Make a Square challenge over on Mod Squad this week. I love this digital of the dogwood and I am always in need of cards with this sentiment for my Care Team obigations at my church.  You can find the challenge here.

Make it Square

I used a Power Poppy digital image and digital sentiment for this square 5 and 1/2 square card for this card for the Mod Squad Make it a Square card challenge. I colored it with copic markers, sponged lipstick pink Oxide ink around the edges. I have been making my cards more mail friendly lately so this is a one layered card. Here is where you will find this challenge.

CCEE1724

Hi everyone,

It's Frances as our hostess again with another fun challenge for you all.

According to the Days of the Year Web Site - Friday 16th is Flip-Flop Day. So for our card this week let's make flip flop cards! That can be the flip-flops that are shoes (thongs for us in Aussie) …. Or Flip Flop Cards or both …. Or you may have another flip flop idea whatever works for you :)

Want to play along? Don't forget to come back and add the link to your card using Mr Linky that you will find here on the cceestampers blog.

I tried to make a fancy fold card and making my own pattern. Kind of crude, but had fun experimenting. No stamps, just cut paper, and even did my own hand written message.

Paper Players challenge #348

Below is my card for this challenge. I used one of my newest purchases from Unity stamps to make this card. I stamped it with versafine black, and colored it with copic markers. These seemed like the perfect colors for this cute image. I came closest to these colors with what I had on hand. Hope it works. Here is the link to this challenge.

CCEE challenge

Hi everyone,

Frances is again our challenge hostess.

Today is World Ocean Day, so the challenge this week is to create a card that reminds you of something related to the ocean.

If you would like to play along, don't forget to come back and add your link to Mr Linky at the bottom of this post.

Now let's see what the Design Team has created for you this week ........
over on the blog site here

I have been having such fun with my new Distress Oxide inks and created this background behind my stamped image of the ship from Flonz. I colored my sails with a white galaxy pen and the wood with a brown copic marker.

Mod Squad challenge = Spark it up!

What a fun challenge for this week on Mod Squad this week! I love anything with a sparkle to it!!
I made use of 3 sparkly papers from my scrap pile for my background, and then I stamped these Unity images and cut with dies. I colored the image with my copic markers. I sponged the sentiment oval with purple distress ink.  I think this will be a perfect birthday card for any of my winedrinking friends.

CTD446

This is for the color throwdown challenge 446. I am using Distress Oxide Inks, and some Unity stamps I just received recently. Just trying out new ideas.

Another Power Poppy June Bug Challenge card

I just love getting over into my downloads and finding these great Power Poppy Digital images. Since I found butterflies on some of the images I had, I decided to try another for the Power Poppy June Bug Challenge. These climbing clematis fit the bill. I googled images of clematis to check out what colors these grow. This bluish purple seem to be one variety. I used a Martha Stewart embossing folder and made this a window card, so the image is actually inside the card.

Power Poppy's June Bug Challenge

I loved Allison's challenge over on Power Poppy's blog for June.  I used the Pure Prairie digital from Power Poppy and the scripture is also a digi from Power Poppy. Because this is a digital, I was able to make it the size I wanted it to be. This is a great advantage over the vinyl or rubber stamps, which I make use of often. I made this a CAS and added an embossed edge just a a final touch to the empty side of the card. I love how the colors pop from the white.

Background challenge at Mod Squad

I have been having such fun the past few weeks experimenting with my Distress Oxide Inks from Ranger. I was thrilled to see self made backgrounds as the challenge this week on the Mod Squad challenge. I also made use of some new Unity stamps I ordered this week. I colored in the butterfly wings with Copic markers.

I was so excited to see that my card had made the top 3 over at Mod Squad's blog. Thanks for the mention. I loved doing this challenge.

Birthday girl

I have done this card for the Unity Stamp challenge to use an Unity girl stamp, and also the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge to do a birthday card. I made use of Unity stamps, and my Distress Oxide inks on this

CCEE1722

Hi everyone,

Frances is our hostess this week , and has a wonderful challenge for us.

Apparently the 2nd of June is Doughnut Day so for our challenge today create something that had usome type of "hole" in it. It t
If you would like to play along with us, don't forget to link your card using Mr Linky below.

Now let's see what the design team has created this week

I am misus any donut stamps, but since I am behind on my Christmas card goal I set for myself, I decided a wreath has a hole in it. So Christmas it is for me this month. I try to make at least 4 Christmas cards a month so that when December gets here, I have it done.

I used an embossing folder then cut it out with a die, used some great Tim Holtz paper that I could sand off the color for a different effect. Here it is:
