CCEE1531

You may or may not know that July 31 is the day that both Harry Potter and his creator, J. K. Rowling celebrate their birthdays. Today the challenge is to create a card or project that honors the remarkable literary character, Harry Potter.

Please join us and link your creation up using the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post. If you upload to another site such as Splitcoaststampers, please add CCEE1531 to your keywords.

Check out the terrific designs from the other team members over at the CCEEStampers blog.

I've not read any of the Harry Potter books, but did a little research on the books and when I saw "flying keys" I was inspired to do this card.

Just Add Ink #272

This multilayered butterfly is a stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The fern is from a retired Stampin' Up set, and the sentiment is from Verve. This card is made for the Just Add Ink Challenge #272.  The minute I saw the challenge was to stamp a butterfly, I could not resist the challenge!

CCEE1540

Lynn is again our hostess and her challenge to us was to use the watercolor bokeh method.  I used this sentiment from Our Daily Bread to be the focal point of this card and added a few sequins and pearls and added this diecut border.

Hope you join us on this fun technique this week and link it over on the CCEEStampers blog.

JUGS302

For the JUGS 302 color challenge this week. I found out today that a friend I grew up with in my youth is facing breast cancer. I made this for her and since she lives hundreds of miles away, I plan to bombard her with cards to help her keep her spirits up.  I used an old retired SU stamp for the flower and a Verve stamp for the sentiment. The design papers are from my scrap pile, so this was a card from the stash! I love those kinds.

CCEE1529

The Texas heat has finally hit after a rather mild June. Lynn, our hostess this month, has given us a chance  to get a break from the heat by creating an underwater scene. I used an underwater image from Klonz and the sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I had a great time mixing some of my favorite blues onto this panel.

Come join in the fun by linking your card to the CCEEStampers blog, and while you are there check out the other underwater scene shared by the team.

CCEE1528

Tomorrow is national Cheer Up the Lonely Day so Lynn is challenging us this week to create a card of friendship and encouragement to mail to someone you know who lives alone. I know it will bring them joy to hear that you are thinking of them!

Please join us in bringing joy and happiness to someone you know who needs it. Link your card up using the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post and then drop your card in the mail. If you upload to another site such as Splitcoaststampers, please add CCEE1528 to your keywords.

Thanks for stopping by today to see the creations of the CCEE Design Team and to join us in this week's challenge!
My card was made with a Power Poppy digital and a Power Poppy stamp for the sentiment. I love these pretty camellias.

Christmas Card Challenge #31

I have set a self goal of making 5 Christmas cards each month. I am a few shy of being caught up with that pace, so I decided to use a little extra motivation and today it came from the Christmas Card Challenge found here.  This challenge is a color challenge:

CAS on Sunday #62

CAS cards are becoming my favorite cards, because they take less time, they are easier to mail, and simple often seems more elegant. I used two different companies embossing edges for this card. The sentiment is from Flourishes and the sun and seagulls are die cuts. I love the fact that embossing causes shadows, and I used dimensional strips to stick on the birds to add extra shadows, and let the sun and shadows help emphasis the words of this proverb. This took less than 10 minutes to create and I really liked the look. Hope you do too. Check out the others over on CAS on Sunday' blog.

CCEE1527 4 th of July

My sister, Lynn, is our hostess this month for CCEE Stampers. She has asked us to share with everyone how one can spend their 4th of July. My son and his wife are going to the Willie Nelson Picnic in Austin this weekend and we get to keep my grandson, Ethan. So, since I have this terrific stamp from Deadbeat Stamps, I thought it could fit into this challenge rather nicely. You know you are getting old when it seems more appealing to just watch concerts on television rather than fight the heat and the crowds.  Hope you get to hear some fabulous music over the weekend.

Get on over to the CCEE blog to see how all the other design team will be spending their 4th of July. If you join in the challenge, please link your card over:.www.cceestampers.blogspot.com
Have a safe and happy 4th of July!!!
