Hi Everyone</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is Maryann again here is my challenge for this week</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Today is Valentine's day and it is also her birthday this week, so please create a birthday card for someone you love.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So, happy birthday, Maryann and on the 16th is my mom's 90th birthday. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used a stencil and the following Distress Oxide inks on this: antique linen, crushed olive, hickory smoke, and black soot. I used my fabulous makeup brushes to add the colors and blend together. They are so fabulous. I colored in the skin tone and hair with an alcohol markers. The stamp is from Unity, the sentiment is an old retired SU. I added a few rhinestones to make it festive. The card base is gray. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
This card is for the color challenge over at<u><a href="http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/"> Paper Players</a></u> this week. I used part of a stencil to sponge on the gray. The card base is light gray. I used mango melon paper to stamp the rose and then cut it out. I stamped the scripture with black ink. I used my makeup brushes for the stenciling. They work so wonderfully. The rose and leaf stamps are from Stampin' Up. The scripture stamp is from Rubbernecker.<br />

Hi Everyone</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is Maryann here as our hostess for February, I hope you can join in the challenge fun.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The birthstone for February is Amethyst, use a shade of purple and include gem stones or charms on your card.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used this Sizzix llama set for my card. I found a great "No Prob Llama" pad of card stock by DCWV that was perfect for this set. I was very fortunate there were some papers with purples in them. I added a few gems and sequins to add to today's fun. </div>

<div style="margin: 0px;">
I used a flower stamp from Rubber Art Stamps (Designs by Ryn), and the thanks sentiments are from My Favorite stamps. I stenciled white paper with distress oxide ink and then die cut these leaves. I love using kraft paper especially with black and white. Adding a few pops of color was fun on this too. </div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
I am sending this thank you to a Bunco group I played with last week as a sub. When I told them about being on a Prison Ministry Team that is going into one of our Texas jails for women this coming weekend, many of them gave me their winning money from Bunco to donate toward the meals we will taking in during the course of the weekend. It touched my heart. </div>

Hello, crafting friends. Liz is here again with a new challenge this week. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found that gold was discovered in California on Jan. 24, 1848, so let's see some gold used on your creations this week. Glittery gold paper, gold chrome cardstock, or gold embossing and any other possibilities you can think to create, we would love seeing on your creation</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSR8kTVlTwKq_LxmqktwgMb_u-s0Q73WfgWyR3uXQYuhc7MpD_GCDv6bHMHKWf8BN9fs7HkQl527QQrxxickdo5RAzKXAKnFMHYg9Jo8BnX15y_2j22LOvvOH46Sj3lTTJp4kRuHzMiPc/s1600/CCEE1904.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="609" data-original-width="505" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSR8kTVlTwKq_LxmqktwgMb_u-s0Q73WfgWyR3uXQYuhc7MpD_GCDv6bHMHKWf8BN9fs7HkQl527QQrxxickdo5RAzKXAKnFMHYg9Jo8BnX15y_2j22LOvvOH46Sj3lTTJp4kRuHzMiPc/s400/CCEE1904.jpg" width="331" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
i almost need to name this card "Too much gold to behold." All of this metallic stuff does not photograph too well with my near midnight lighting. This is the best shot that I got. I used a lot of my fancy gold papers from my stash, and embossing the sentiment in gold as well. My mom is going to be celebrating her 90th birthday in February so she has reached those "golden" years I suppose. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card is making use of one of my stamping resolutions for this year: deplete the stash, use old stamps, and make use of the tools I have. </div>

This weekend is going to be our coldest days we have had so far this winter, so my favorite way to stay warm is to get cozy and sip on my favorite hot beverage. I have just become a coffee drinker, and although hot tea is still probably my favorite, I found some Godiva coffee on sale after Christmas that has been my recent morning beverage. Hope you will join us in the fun this week by checking over at the <span style="color: red;"><a href="http://www.cceestampers.blogspot.com/">CCEE blogsite</a></span>, and will join us in playing along with this challenge. Please use CCEE1903 as your keyword. <div>

Hi Crafty Friends!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's challenge time again here at CCEE Stampers and Liz is back with another fun challenge for us all.</div>
<br />
<b>Happy Birthday, Elvis!! Liz is challenging us to make him come alive in some way on our cards this week.( Maybe a rock and roll theme, records, an Elvis or guitar stamp, or perhaps even “Blue Suede shoes.”) Anyway you can think to let the world know “the King” of rock and roll.</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Our team has outdone themselves this week with their tributes to Elvis, so please check them out over at the blogsite by clicking <span style="color: red;"><a href="http://www.cceestampers.blogspot.com/">HERE</a></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDMKF0_uA-ywIlyU-ES5nrMlh36cn10bNUcrAeMkAe-SAtWUZd6Z7kkVSxeOajpRA8zHcbVCnjii9rNvrx5XLrtT6Br1l4LZt3kxXmiYoWijyZvJ0KmIaIXd9GZZ2afdson2JKYcoGPxU/s1600/CCEE1902+Elvis.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="670" data-original-width="522" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDMKF0_uA-ywIlyU-ES5nrMlh36cn10bNUcrAeMkAe-SAtWUZd6Z7kkVSxeOajpRA8zHcbVCnjii9rNvrx5XLrtT6Br1l4LZt3kxXmiYoWijyZvJ0KmIaIXd9GZZ2afdson2JKYcoGPxU/s400/CCEE1902+Elvis.jpg" width="311" /></a></div>
<br />
It is not showing up in the photograph, but on the neck of the guitar it says, "Elvis Presley."<br />
In my preteen and teenage years, I did not miss a one of Elvis' movies on the big screen.<br />
I was a huge fan. It is hard to believe that he would be 84 if he were alive today. Everyone back in the day had at least one Elvis album, so I tucked this record I made from circles into this sleeve on my card. I wrote "Love me Tender" on it, as it was one of my favorites. </div>

Wishing you a very happy 2019!! I used a Tim Holtz set to make this card. Colored it with alcohol markers and sponged the edges with distress oxide ink. Added a little glittered holly to the wreath.Liz Williamshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14614774411876847573noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6204288007320115361.post-73358016069637221722019-01-02T23:45:00.000-06:002019-01-02T23:45:06.458-06:00CCEE1901<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hi everyone and Happy New Year, </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">we are all glad to be back for another year of fun challenges.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 10pt; margin-left: 0.75in; margin-top: 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Liz, our hostess this month, lives in a place where winters are relatively mild, but her greatest fear is driving in icy conditions. “Black Ice” is a very hazardous condition she has heard others mention. And she discovered in the tutorials on <a href="https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/blackicetechnique/">SCS ,a technique called “Black Ice” technique</a> in stamping. So even without much experience at the icy driving or this technique, she is challenging us to give that technique a try. </span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 10pt; margin-left: 0.75in; margin-top: 0pt;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Let's see what our Design Team created using this technique over on the CCEE blogsite found <a href="http://www.cceestampers.blogsite.com/">HERE</a>. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I stamped jet black stazon onto some aluminum foil. Did some direct from pad smears across it and then stamped the trees. When it was dry, I added versamark ink over the entire front. I used a thick clear embossing powder over the top and heated with heat gun. Then I added the diecut deer and birds. I added dots of white liquid pearl as snowflakes. I had never tried this before and although the picture doesn't do real justice to it, I loved the clear icy topping that covered the entire card. </span></div>

I was so happy to see Julee Tilman still doing her Mojo Monday challenges over on her blog that can be found <span style="color: cyan;"><a href="https://poeticartistry.blogspot.com/p/mojo-monday.html">here</a>.. </span>Her sketch for this week made a great layout for one of the many thank you cards I need to make. I used an old SU leaf stamp and flower stamp for this card. My new year's stamping resolution is to take my rubber off the wood to condense my storage spaces in my stamping room. In doing that I am going through lots of my old stamps that I still want to keep. (like these two). I have already gotten most of my thank you sentiments off the wood and onto cling foam and into DVD boxes labeled as such. Makes for easier finding as well. I am making my stamping room user friendly for me. I really don't care what stamps came with the set, when they were purchased and it really doesn't matter too much what company made them either. I am of the age now that I just want to stamp, find things easily, keep them in some kind of order, and in less space. In doing so and finding them easier, I plan to make use of more of my old, but well loved stamps in my collection. Happy 2019 and happy stamping days ahead to you!!<br />

I did this card for the AAA challenge this week that can be found on their website <a href="https://aaacards.blogspot.com/">HERE</a>. The challenge was to be a CAS card with three things. I picked this image with the three kings. I used versamark ink and gold embossing powder. Then I added a jewel in the center of the star. I needed another card, so this quick and easy one fit my time frame this morning too.Liz Williamshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14614774411876847573noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6204288007320115361.post-88947395932634783652018-12-09T22:04:00.000-06:002018-12-09T22:04:00.211-06:00TLC720 and Allsorts 479<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I don't do mass production in card making very often. But this is a set that will be a thank you gift for a hostess of a Christmas party that I was invited to. I stenciled the picket fence distress oxide inks onto the kraft card base. I made this for the Allsorts challenge that can be found <a href="http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/">HERE</a> using Christmas flowers, and for the SCS Technique Lover's Challenge that make cards suitable for mass production.Liz Williamshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14614774411876847573noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6204288007320115361.post-21808718354578583012018-12-06T07:10:00.002-06:002018-12-06T07:10:50.169-06:00CCEE1849 - Elf antics<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I am a retired kindergarten teacher, and I know how excited children can get about Christmas and for the most part warning children that Santa's elves are helping Santa make his list did motivate better behavior for the most part. Now I really could not have used plan B in my classroom, but let it represent the more unpleasant of the consequences of their behavior. As a child, a swat or the belt was the only plan of improving behavior when I grew up, so we have come a long way. I just hope people see this as humorous and not harsh. We did survive in those days, because our mother's bark was much more severe than her bite. </span><br />

Today I had a chance to visit some of the weekly challenges going on and found this one from CAS(E) this sketch #299. You can find it <span style="color: red;"><a href="http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/">here</a></span>. <img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuvMTniIx9v9SYfu-XCZvBteCKn7ZcYGWvoQb1bCIm-NVv1SiEJn1RtXUUy603VXT11L_4Otwf3JFLxaVjLxbkVzuMQ82SEa5mpicSTVAh4HragaMRhd8VtuWkXvXOggkrKgAuGIw7yPA/s1600/CTS_299.jpg" /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span id="goog_2031441351"></span><span id="goog_2031441352"></span>I designed the card on a one layered base and made the card that opened the size of the striped panel. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Challenges are a great way to gain inspiration and new ideas and for these last group of Christmas cards I need, I can use all the help I can get. </div>

Happy Holidays to all of you who come to visit here at my blog. </div>

I am still making a few more Christmas cards, and so I used this MOJO Monday Challenge sketch #504 to design this card. I used my die cuts for the circles and the holly, Since I have been pulling all my rubber off the wood, I have not been doing too good a job on keeping up with where the stamp comes from. I am not in the business of selling anyone's stamps, I simply like creating with mine, no matter how old or how long I have had it. My Christmas stamps I reuse year after year. </div>

Well, I hope my little pig will qualify as a critter for the Mod Squad challenge this week. She is from Deep Red, and I have had such fun with her this week over on Splitcoaststampers as a part of the unfolding tale of the festival going on in Whykickanoocow, Australia as part of the MMTPT challenge over there on Tuesdays. My little pig was a little jealous of all the attention cows seem to get in that town so she entered the Miss WhyKickanoocow, to represent the hog population of the town. Unfortunately, she lost the pageant's grand prize, but as fate would have it, her fashion tips for the holidays book called, "How to be in Hog Heaven for the Holidays.," made the best seller list. This is a page from book. LOL The sentiment is a stamp from Unity.<br />
<br />
I plan to use this tip myself, seeing I actually needed it for Thanksgiving. Have a happy holiday season!!Liz Williamshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14614774411876847573noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6204288007320115361.post-74104094016168874822018-11-28T23:31:00.000-06:002018-11-28T23:31:00.326-06:00CCEE1848 squares and circles<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Anne here with my last challenge. This one is dedicated to her hubby, who is a retired Mathematics teacher.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;">Circles and squares are simple geometric shapes. Make a card using at least one of each.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: start;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: start;">So, Anne, I used a fancy paper punch I have not used in years, to make these square packages. Then I used circles punehed around other cirlce punches to make these bows. Gift buying seems to be on my brain this week, and decided these shapes work perfectly with this gift theme. Do I get bonus points for the few triangles and retangles I also added to the mix???</span><br />
<span style="text-align: start;"><br /></span>
Come join the geometric fun this week and do this challenge along with us. Add CCEE1848 as your keyword if you load to Splitcoast. Or you might try linking it up on the CCEEblogspot you can find <a href="https://cceestampers.blogspot.com/">HERE</a>.<br />

She is asking us to make a humerous birthday card this week for our challenge.<br />
<br />
My card was made from scraps found in my paper scraps that I pieced together for my background. I do this ahead of time when I just want to get some pre-made backgrounds made for future use. Since this week has been filled with Thanksgiving preparation, I was so glad I found this background already done in my stash. So I just stamped the cake and fussy cut it out and then added the sentiment to the white panel that was on the card. This stamp and sentiment is from Unity Stamps. Unfortunately, my own birthday cake is resembling this one more and more!! <br />

Let's see what our Design Team have created for us this week .Hope you play along and add your link over on the CCEEblog you can find <a href="http://www.cceestampers.blogspot.com/">HERE</a>.<br />
<br />
I used this old Flourish stamp in my collection because I love this sunflower and the wonderful art of Marcela Hawley. I used the gingham washi tape as my panel and embossed the inked basket weave embossing folder to add to the topaz look. I used my Oxide inks in various ways on this card. </div>

A little short on time for this challenge, the real challenge became getting it done in the time that was left on the linky over at Mod Squad, You can find the challenge <span style="color: red;"><a href="http://modsquadchallenge.com/floral-card-modern-grid/">HERE</a></span>. I used a Unity stamp for the main image and some small SU stamps for some of the grids.Liz Williamshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14614774411876847573noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6204288007320115361.post-46092407425816604702018-11-12T06:53:00.000-06:002018-11-12T06:53:04.317-06:00CAS507 and C4C460<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This card fit many purposes today. I needed a sympathy card, the SC CAS challenge was color blocking, and this week's Crazy 4 Challenges was one one layer card (my favorites). So I used an old retired SU stamp to do the blocks of color with some of the purples in my Distress Oxide Ink collection. It used the black DOI for the image from Stampabilities and the sentiment also a Stampabilities stamp. I also only took me 10 minutes to do this card.Liz Williamshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14614774411876847573noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6204288007320115361.post-70645080346444616232018-11-10T21:10:00.003-06:002018-11-10T21:14:11.272-06:00Crafty Calendar Challenge - paper piecing<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I have been so excited about using my Kedsom brushes especially with my oxide inks and my stencils. I did this on kraft paper. I stamped the Unity image onto the kraft paper, then I stenciled the background carefully not to get on the stamped image. I paper pieced her sweater and glued it on.<br />
Then I stamped the sentiment. I colored her hair with alcohol markers and blended it with a blender pen.<br />

This was a great challenge to me as none of the tongue twisters I knew I didn't have stamps to go with, or the ones I did, someone had already used that tongue twister. So, I just got really creative and made up my own to fit one of the stamps I had. I was lucky too to find this nautical paper pad I found that had this sheet of dp with crabs on it. So, here is my created tongue twister for you: <b><span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> This crazy, creepy crab cries for crispy, crunchy crackers!! </span></b><br />
