SNSFFC6

The challenge for the SNSFFC 6 is to use a bird, a birdhouse, or a rose. I used my embossing folder that had little birds in the pattern, and I used a rose button. I wanted to use Sweet and Sassy stamps for the card and did not have any of those images on my collection of their stamps. So I used this sentiment and embellished with some of those things.  I really like how this turned out.

I have loved the challenge over on the Sweet and Sassy blog so much all week that this is the third card I have made for it. I just got this set in the mail today and it was perfect for the oval challenge.

SOS144 my oldest tree stamp

I guess just about everyone has Lovely As A Tree stamp set from Stampin' Up. It seems to be a classic. It is hard to see in this photo but the card base is hunter green. It appears black in this photo. The sentiment is also from an older SU set too. I made the sun with a sponge dauber. Check out all the fun over on at the SOS challenge.

HMFMC166 - Masculine

I wanted to make this an easy to mail card, as flat as possible. This is one of my cards I made as a part of  my 100 cards in 100 days self challenge I have going. The goals I am trying to meet besides the 100 cards are : using up old papers and scraps from the piles in my stamping room, using images that I have had for some time, and making cards that others might be interested in purchasing. The money I make will go to the prison ministry in which I am involved and also the Women's Ministry at my church.

Less is More 164

The challenge on Less is More was to use 3 of something on your card. So, this little trio of bees seem to fit the bill. This stamp is from Stamps Happen, Inc. The sentiment is a retired one from Stampin' Up. This is a one layered card in which I reverse masked the scalloped oval. Another part of this fun challenge was to visit 3 other blogs to leave comments. I don't often take the time to even check and view any of the other cards closely, so this gave me the discipline to do so.

CAS on Sunday

The challenge over at CAS on Sunday is to make a one layer card. I love making one layer cards and did a little masking with this one. Also decided it was time to start getting some of those Easter cards rolled out.
I added a few scoring lines just to add a little bit to the design of the card. This little chick stamp I found in the $1 bin at Michael's last spring. It was just too cute and the price was too good to pass up. I used some leaves from an old retired Stampin' Up set for the leaves and a sentiment stamp from Printworks.

Sweet and Sassy's Friday Feature and challenge #5

How exciting to find this challenge in my email today from Sweet and Sassy stamps! The challenge was to use an oval on your card. I also used this stamp set from Sweet and Sassy Stamps. I embossed the edge of the card and added a scalloped oval behind the focal oval and use a strip of ribbon down the side.

CFC129 Shades of Gray

Nothing like getting things done in the final hours. Had to dig around my stamp round for some gray paper and inks. I used silver embellishments. I guess embellishments may not be considered CAS but when I don't have to cut and make them and they are just ready to go, I sometimes add them. There are so many beautiful gray cards linked over at CAS-ual Fridays challenge. Go check them out!.

ODBDSLC195

Happy Anniversary to Our Daily Bread Designs, who are celebrating 6 glorious years in business. The challenge for the ODBDSLC challenge was to use 6 of something on your card. I used two of my ODBD stamps (the background stamp of IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL) and this butterfly. The hymn has a six word title and I used 6 butterflies on the card. Congratulations to Our Daily Bread Designs. I am thrilled that you offer so many inspirational stamps and biblical scriptures in ways to share the Christian faith. May the Lord continue to bless you in your talents and ideas. I love using your stamps to glorify the Lord in encouraging and uplifting ways. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

FTTC263 and {Pin}spiration challenge #99

I am using this card for the Flourish Timeless Tuesday Challenge to use a touch of gold (which I did with the gold chrome cardstock around the daisies, although it does not photograph well). And I am using this for the {Pin}spiration #99 challenge using this photo in the background of the second photo of my card.

My Absence

So sorry to have been neglecting my blog for the past month, but I have been recuperating from a fractured humerus bone in my upper left arm. Thanks for all the prayers that have been lifted for me, and there are so many God lessons I have learned during that quiet, still time of healing. Learning to trust the Lord in all things is a beautiful thing to behold and receiving the love and care of others is very endearing as well.
