Psalm 23-Stampin' Sisters in Christ

Scripture: Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

This is for the challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ this week. We were to use blues and greens on our card. My design papers are from Basic Grey. The cardbase is from Paper Trey. The scripture stamp is from Stampabilities and the leaves are Studio G.

I used a few Spellbinders and some ribbon. There was a tiny smudge on the white panel, so as I always say, little mistakes are a call for one more embellishment---this time a tiny prima and pearl.

HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY. AND HAPPY RUNNING ALL OF YOU HEARTY SOULS IN THE HOUSTON MARATHON.

Speedy the Cat's Friends' challenge

The challenge this week is to make a Valentine. Instead of using the hearts from Mark's Finest Papers' Hearts, hearts, hearts set, I decided to diecut my hearts and use the pansies from the January released sets. The sentiment is from Hearts, Hearts, Hearts. I loved these colors from Basic Grey's Indian Summer. I colored my pansies with my copic markers and put white gel pen dots around my heart. Handmade Valentines are a wonderful way to tell  someone special how much you love them. Be sure to stop back by next week to get a peek at some of the soon to be released new sets from Mark's Finest Papers.

Speedy the cat's friends' Challenge

The challenge this week is to make a sympathy card. Unfortunately, I had to make one for a family who lost their father (only 39 years old). He left behind a wife and 3 small children. These are always so difficult to make especially when it is needed. I used Mark's Finest Papers' Brick Wall set.

SSIC73

The challenge for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ was to do a vintage card. I love this layered stamp from Kitchen Sink because it looks like an old bride and groom cake topper. I tried out my new celtic heart punch from Martha Stewart and added them to the mix too.

FTTC101 BIG cards

How fun to see Dee Jackson's challenge today over on the Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday Challenge! She is challenging us to make a BIG card (5 x 7). This is one of my favorite of my newer Flourish sets. I love this sentiment. I used some Basic Grey design paper on this along with PTI's green apple cardstock. This ribbon has been in my stash for a while and it just seemed fitting to use it on a BIG card!!!  The punch I used is from Martha Stewart and I colored my rhinestones with a violet copic marker to pick up the plum color stripe in the ribbon. I used Memento ink pads on the image and the sentiment.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ #72

This is my most recent purchase from Kitchen Sink Stamps. It even had the sentiment "new beginnings" in it. Thought this would make a wonderful wedding card. I used night of navy and ivory cardstock. I used Scor-Pal tape to attach the Martha Stewart Mica Flake glitter to the top and bottom of the card. New beginnings are always worth celebrating!!!

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #38

I just loved this design paper from the Olivia pad from Basic Grey and I loved the way Faith's butterfly just seemed so perfect with it. I used some Martha Stewart punches to add the lacy edges. I just love making Valentines so this is my favorite time of year for cardmaking. Christmas is great too, but everything is so busy and time is not quite as plentiful as these nice, cold, stay- in- the- house- and- stamp days of January seem to be. All these stamps are from the hearts, hearts, hearts set from Mark's Finest Papers. Keeping with my stamping resolution for the year, I took the pink, sky blue, and striped design paper from my scrapbox.

Stamping sisters in Christ #71

Ruth 2:12 "May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Isreal, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."

This card is for today's Stampin' sisters in Christ challenge to make a card using something with wings.
I used Kitchen Sinks butterfly stamp done with 3 multilayers. I was trying out many colors on these, then I punched them out and added to a card.

Speedy the Cat's Friends' challenge #37

This is for the Speedy the Cat's Friends' Challenge this week to use embossing. I used the woven background stamp from Mark's Finest Papers and also the large heart from the Hearts, Hearts, Hearts set from Mark's Finest Papers. I love making Valentines, my other favorite card sending time of the year!! I used Versamark ink and gold embossing powder. The red paper is from Basic Grey which I also used for the heart that was embossed. The pink heart I diecut with my nestabilites. I added a little bow and heart button.

I love Valentines

Valentines are my favorite card making time of the year. I think I like it even better than making Christmas cards, maybe because the time of year is less hectic. I made about 5 Valentines most of them using this set called Hearts, Hearts, Hearts from Mark's Finest Papers. I am sharing only one of them here. I hope to put the others over on Splitcoaststampers. The brass heart is something I've had for a long time. I bought them at First Monday Trade Days in Canton many years ago to use on some other craft projects. My new year's resolution is to deplete the hoarded collections around my house. I'm also working on depleting my scrap pile. I used two scraps for this card from that pile. Yea, me!!
The design paper I used on this is from Basic Grey's Olivia collection. I used it on three of my other cards I made tonight too. I love a black and white combo with red or pink or both thrown in like it is on this one.

Color Throw Down 123

I loved the colors for this week's Color Throw Down challenge of baja breeze, cameo coral, and always artichoke. The Basic Grey dp seemed to have those colors in it so I used it to add a little patterned variety to my card. The stamp is from a new set coming out next week by Mark's Finest Papers. I thought this would make a cute teaparty invite for some little girl's birthday.  I punched the design paper with the scalloped circle from Stampin' Up and then I cut every other section of it out to make the flower. The coral flower middle is the SU flower punch. I used a large pearl as the center. A Martha Stewart punch was used as the under layered strip behind the design paper panel. I colored the image with copic markers.

A Sneek Peak

Here's a peek at something new that will be released by Mark's Finest Papers next week. I used some plaid dp from Basic Grey and more masculine type colors for this one. Think you are going to love the stamps that come with this set.I colored it with my copics.

Picture this--a 10 minute Kitchen Sink card!

I simply could not do any multilayering in 10 minutes and still get the card together. So, I chose to use one of the stamps from the limited edition set of a year of thanks. I just did some repetitive stamping using rose bud Memento ink. I punched the edge and then punched a strip of design paper to double the edge. I added some red rhinestones and a pink ribbon to the creased side.

DD12days08

The challenge for today's Daily Dare's 12 days of Christmas challenge was to be inspired by your new Year's Resolution. I decided that after catching on camera a few beautiful sunrises and sunsets this year that maybe I should get up to see more sunrises this year, and get outside as the sun is setting too., Maybe getting in harmony with nature is God's way of sending us a wonderful way to release the stresses and burdens of every day life simply by enjoying the beauty He provides everyday.

I used a piece of Basic Grey paper to stamp on as the background. I used tuxedo black and some tangerine and rose pink to sponge in some of the additional colors for the sky.  I drew in the fence with a black pen as I also drew in a few birds in the sky.All the stamps and sentiments are from Mark's Finest Papers.

Speedy's Friends Challenge

HAPPY NEW  YEAR!!!! Here's hoping your 2011 will be filled with God's blessings and plans for your life.

This is for the Speedy's Friends' Blog Challenge to use something new. My new thing is the Basic Grey paper I used for this card. I also tried a new color scheme for Valentines' Day.  I sanded off the black from embossed panel and used white embossing powder for the stamped hearts. The yellow cardstock, Basic Grey paper, stamps, and organdy ribbon are all from Mark's Finest Papers.
