CAS on Sunday #32

The challenge for the CAS on Sunday Challenge is to use glitter. On this ivory card, I used Martha Stewart's mica flake glitter that I adhered with double stick tape. The stamped sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy.
The ivory cardstock is Recollection 110 weight paper. This was made in less than 10 minutes, so it is quick and easy, yet elegant enough to add a glimmer of hope in even the darkest moments. Have a blessed week.

ODBDSLC199

This is for the ODBDSLC which is a sketch challenge. I decided to use this butterfly stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs and mask it and repeat the butterflies. This plaid design paper had so many wonderful spring colors in it that I decided to use some of those colors as the butterfly colors. The purple flower is stamped from the Sweet Williams set from ODBD as well and diecut with the matching die. The lace is a lacey border trim from Spellbinders.

ODBDSLC198 Easter cross

Today's cross is from Our Daily Bread Designs as is the sentiment. I used some pretty metalic copper paper and also embossed with copper embossing powder on the cross and sentiment. The card base was put through a cuttlebug folder. I added the flowers and pearls. The cross says it all for me for Easter. It instantly reminds me of all the love Christ has for me, all so I can be redeemed from my sins. It sets me free of the bondage that sin has on our lives and as one contemporary song states, "The cross was enough, the cross was enough." The cross stamp is an old favorite of mine from Our Daily Bread Designs. The sentiment is also a ODBD.

Wow, what a surprise to see that I was mentioned as one of the cards of the week for Our Daily Bread Design's Shining the Light Challenge! Thanks, ODBD. I love stamping with your fabulous stamps!

Embossed Cross

As I survey the wonderful cross, on which the Prince of Glory died, My richest gain, I count but lost,
and pour contempt on all my pride.

This cross is a stamp from Inkadinkado. How blessed we are that there are companies out there who design beautiful Christian symbols.  Thanks, Inkadinkado, Stampablities, Our Daily Bread Designs, Verve, Eureka, and Sweet and Sassy Stamps. These companies have created some of my favorite crosses and scripture stamps I have in my collection.

Lead me to the Cross

A few lovely lyrics of a beautiful song "Lead me to the Cross" remind me of the love that is represented by the cross:

Lead me to the Cross, where your love poured out.
Rid me of myself, I belong to You.

I inked this embossing folder with rose bud Memento ink and then put  pink pirouette paper into the folder (Cuttlebug - Anna Griffin) I used a cross diecut from Our Daily Bread, smaller cross from Verve, and the flourish is from MFT.

Palm Sunday cross

Today is Palm Sunday, and I attended worship at the Hub today at my church. I decided to just stamp branches of leaves all over my card in the shape of a cross and place my Darice cross embossing folder over the stamped portion and emboss the words that are in the shape of a cross. They I rubbed a small black ink pad over the embossed area. This was the results and I really liked the way it turned out.

Easter cross

This week I play\n to make cards with my entire cross stamp collection. I decided this would be a way to share my great love for my Lord and the amazing thing He did going to the cross to die for my sins. Be sure to come by all week to see what I have posted. I hope you are reminded of God's great love for you every time you see a cross. These azaleas are from the new Power Poppy Azalea set that just became available this month. My azaleas in my yard are about bloomed out, but I think these will help me enjoy azaleas all year long.  I colored them with copic makers. The cross is embossed with a Darice embossing folder and the background doily is a Spellbinder diecut.

ODBDSLC197

This week's ODBSLC challenge was to use water or rain. I used watercolors for this powerful image of Christ. It is from a wonderful set from Our Daily Bread.  This is the entry into Holy Week. I hope to make all my cards this week using many of my crosses and images of Christ and scriptures as my expression of love for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I started this week at the Hub, a service at my church, had communion and worshiped my Lord waving palms and laying them done by His cross. Although many of the other services this week will be much more emotional, I will honor Him and worship Him in each and every one. May this be a week of reflection of your love for the one who paid it all.

CFC130

Here's my Veggies for the Crazy for Challenges for this week. I used a Flourish set by Marcella Hawley and a basket weave embossing folder by Darice. I rubbed a tan ink pad over the embossing to give it this look.

CAS-ual Friday Challenge 130

This is for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge to use an oval. My ovals are the eggs in the basket and the loops on the basket. This is as CAS as they get. I am using an older stamp that has not been stamped in a while and I embossed the partial chevron lines just to add a little texture to it. As we enter Holy Week, may you be blessed and filled just as this little basket is.

SNSFFC7

The challenge this week for Sweet and Sassy Friday challenge was to use stripes. I stamped the calla lily in tuxedo black and then colored it with copic markers. Added the sentiment and ribbon and rhinestones.
Quick and easy and yet so elegant. The sentiments with this set are such great ones.
