Day 116 in the 365 challenge

This is the first week I've tried to do the 365 challenge. Today was to make a wedding card without any text just letting the image announce what it is for!!! I cuttlebugged the background on PaperTreyInk's white cardstock. I punched the bordering blue square with a Martha Stewart border punch and the bride and groom are in the Voila to go set. Added some pretty white ribbon and a few pearls and it made a quick wedding card for a happy couple.

We have been experiencing record breaking heat here on the gulf coast of Texas the last week and no sign of a break in the temperatures any time soon. So summer is blazing here. I guess that is why I've been hung up on these hot colors lately. I'm trying the new SU "in color" of dusty durango on this card. I used the dusty durango ink and the new soft suede ink with a blender pen coloring the flowers and the background. I used up some design papers left over from previous projects (I told you I have been using a lot of these hot colors lately and they are all over my scrap table.) Hope you are enjoying your summer and hope it's not as hot where you are!!! With the humidity we have too that 100 degrees is just sizzling!! My remedy to the heat is to stay in my stamp room all day and stamp.

I'm doing the 365 challenge two days in a row. Today's challenge was to use paper piecing. The scripture is from stampabilities, the rose is from Stampin' Up's Fifth Avenue Floral, and the leaves are from Flourishes. The rose was stamped on a piece of The Paper Studio design paper and the leaves are stamped on some scraps I found in my scrap pile. The background is made with a wheel from Stampin' Up.

Today's Digital Challenge is a great one for me. Using scraps can be so fun and putting some together that out of the box is really fun too!!! This image is from Digital Stamp Oasis. I colored little Sammy with copic markers and I love how the blender pen will lighten up areas that need highlighting. You can find the challenge here.

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #7

This is for this week's sketch for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. For everyone that enters and leaves comments, extra money goes into the Midnight Madness Mad Money Piggy Bank and the drawing is soon. Check it out here for all the details. I used some of my new Stampin' Up in colors---soft suede and dusty durango as well as a piece of Ambrosia Basic Grey dp. I also used some summer sun and pumpkin pie and ivory paper too. The scripture stamp is from Stampabilities. The leaf punch is from Martha Stewart. I just love that punch. And of course, how could I not mention my wonderful Nestabilities that I could not live without. The pumkin piece and the summer sun were embossed with the cuttlebug paisley folder. Love these printed primas from Prima Marketing. Those are corduroy brads for the centers of the flowers, gold domes for the corner treatment, and some orange grosgrain ribbon. I have been falling down on getting my weekly scripture loaded to my blog, but today was a great day to do that!! Bless you this day, and remember we don't have to operate on our own understanding if we just but trust in the Lord!!Find someone to pray for today---there are many suffering from floods, drought, terror, tragic losses, and terminal illnesses. Lift some of these up today in your prayers!

365 challenge

This is the first time I've done the 365 challenge. Wow, another way to do a challenge a day and I was very motivated to see that my buddie, Susan completed each daily challenge. I'm going to give it a try.

House Mouse weekly challenge

This is for today's House Mouse challenge. It is a sketch challenge you might want to click on and check out! I don't know about you, but I save every scrap left from any and every project and my scrap pile is about to over take me. So, My self challenge is to make myself use something from my scrap box without cutting any new larger pieces of paper. I did accomplish that with this card. That way I can enjoy all of these fun challenges in the week, and perhaps deplete the pile of paper in my stamping room. I might try sending out to go boxes of scraps to anyone who will dare to darken the door in my stamp room. What do you think?
