Christmas in July cards

Today's colors on the Color Challenge at SCS are perfect for some other Christmas in July challenges I have wanted to do.  So I am entering this into the Dragon Journey's challenge this week as well.
This is my favorite technique for adding color to the background, and it gives me additional uses for my huge collection of embossing folders in my stamproom. I simply rubbed the Distress inks (mowed lawn and old barn) onto the inside of my embossing folder. Then I spritz it with water and close up my paper on the inside and press down. It's not always an exact look and I like leaving some spaces clear of ink. I added some diecut pine needles to it, and stamped the car (Unity stamps) on a different piece of paper.I colored it with my copic markers and added silver metallic ink to the hub caps and fender and chrome on the car.  I cut it out and popped it up over the pine needles. I added this sentiment from Sizzix in versafine black. Loved the vividness of the colors I acheived with the distress ink. They are now my "go to" ink pads. Happy Stampin' this week!!

Thanks, for Dragon Journey's for selecting this card as their winning princess card this week. I am very honored.
