WAW60

I finally arrived back at home after a busy week of Christmas holidays at my parents home. It's hard being away from the stamp room, so it was great to get going again on some challenges for the week. This one is for the Word Art Wednesday challenge making use of this wonderful quote from Helen Keller. I did some embossing on this card and then brayed colored ink over the embossed areas. May the Light guide us into this new year, and may our faith stand  firm against the unrighteous and the victory be the Lord's.

Word art Wednesday #36

This is such a powerful message from the Word for just the best advice of parenting we can give anyone.
AMEN, and AMEN. The cross image is from Verve and the mother silhouette is from Flourishes. I just used various papers I found in my scraps for the paper on the card. Word art Wednesday is my favorite Wednesday challenge. I'm getting a late start today, because I had other things that needed to be done today. One of which was having lunch with my favorite pastor, Lorraine Brown!! What a spiritual inspiration she is to me!!!

WAW31

It's late Wednesday night, I've had a day that included going to the doctor's and getting xrays.
Not sure why I have the pains I am having, but the xrays ruled out kidney stones. God is so good!!
I also pray that God also will see to my heart that is is not of stone either. Isn't this just like God to put this scripture on this day for me!!!  I have a BIG job I am doing for God that is way out of my comfort zone, but I am trusting Him completely  to supply all the skills I need. I am forming a team to go into a women's prison to take His message to a selected group of these sisters in white. Our weekend is not until September, but I know the devil would love to be the pain in my side (which I guess is the cause of this one, since the xrays did not indicate any problems) and keep me from the things I need to do to prepare for this event. I ask for your prayers to cover the women who God selects as His team to go in, and also for those women God is calling to be participants. Showing God's love to the world  in any place we can, in whatever ways we can, to whomever we can is certainly a way of  using that new heart He gives us. Have a blessed week!!

WAW#30 - Matthew 5:16

Another great scripture highlighted this week over on Word Art Wednesday. Made use of a few new toys in my stamproom. The diecut from Sizzix and the new embossing folder also by Sizzix. I used the edge of the stamp pad to stamp some sun rays across the scripture. I mounted this onto kraft cardstock.
Glorifying God are the most pleasurable ways I can spend my day.

Work Art Wednesday 28

Green leaves of summer for this wonderful scripture from 2 Timothy 1:7. You can find all of the other terrific cards for this challenge here.  Isn't it just like humans to always think about what WE want instead of what GOD wants for us? This scripture reminds me fear is not of God, but our strength and sanity are from God as is our spirit to love. Embrace the powers given you, and quit trying to make fear  a power at all.

I have always loved that song "The Green Leaves of Summer" that was in "The Alamo" with John Wayne. I think some of the lyrics included scripture from Ecclesiates. Summer is just around the corner and  moms with kids home from school....may all of these three things be yours! Power, love, and a sound mind!!!!

WAW 27

I just love going over to the Word Art Wednesday webiste every Wednesday to see what scripture is being featured for the day. I love this one from Isaiah. The stamp I bought in the $1 bin at Michael's earlier in the year, and thought if perfect for this scrpiture. I added the pretty white diecut mounted on a black strip and added black rhinestones (also a $1 deal from Michael's). I love the simplicity that the black and white gives this and what comforting words in times of need. I've been having some friends who are going through some rough times lately and think these words will lift their spirit. I read a cute quote on Pinterest once that said "fear not" is in the Bible 365 times, a reminder for every day! Trust in the Lord always!!

Word Art Wednesday #24

I love this paper from Basic Grey and the scripture I copied from Word Art Wednesday, the leaves were stamped using an old SU sellabration set. The rose felt was diecut from a diecut I got aat MFT, as is the green diecut of leaves. I love sharing the scripture on my cards. Most of my cards are either sent to encourage others, or are sold for my prison ministry. I hope you find a way to bless others with your lovely creations.

Word Art Wednesday 21

One of my favorite of a new found challenge is this one called Word Art Wednesday Challenge. Here is my card for this week's challenge using this verse from 1 John. I used Basic Grey design paper as my background and my diecuts from Spellbinder and my cross diecut from Verve. I have had this Jollee's cross hoarded for some time. As we enter Holy Week next week, I pray that you will focus on just how much God loves us all. I think this will also qualify for the challenge over on the Belli140 challenge this week to use 3 shapes.

Word Art Wednesday #20

A card for Word Art Wednesday. A great scripture was provided. I used river rock ink to stamp leaves over the top and also on the card base. I made this flower with a diecut. I love discovering spiritual and uplifting challenges like this. Spreading the word in the beautiful way of paper crafting is a perfect way to share the Good news with the world. ....so the world will know!!!

Word Art Wednesday

This is for the challenge over at Word Art Wednesday. This is a lovely quote from Mother Teresa.
I did all the stamping and attached the quote and then ran it through my cuttlebug using a folder from Sizzix. It reminded me of textured wallpaper. The stamp set is from Stampin' Up.

Word Art Wednesday

After reading the loving comments left on some of my cards on my blog this week, I discovered one from Karen Letchworth with a personal invitation to join this fabulous challenge called Word Art Wednesday. This is a new challenge I with which I was not so familiar and their challenges make use of scriptures and inspirational messages on the entries. On the blog you even are allowed to copy a scripture to use on your challenge. So, thanks Karen for this invitation. These are exactly the kinds of cards I make most and will love seeing all the others that are submitted on the blog. I'll have to check it out each week from now on. This lily is from Flourishes and the design paper is from Basic Grey.
