Beach, old stamps, and tropical colors
I loved making this card that seemed to fit 3 challenges I found this week. I stamped my own background for this using distress oxide inks, and using a old seashell set from SU dated back to 2000, palm trees from a set from 2006, and my Crosshatch background stamp from many, many years ago as well. The sentiment is my only new stamp used on this card.from Stampendous. My diecut is from Spellbinders.
Here are the challenges I made this card for:

SOS371 and CAS Colours and Sketches
These are the colors for the CAS Colours and Sketch challenge this week:
grapefruit grove, daffodil delight, and highland heather. I used the ink and rubbed it across the inside an embossing folder, spritzed it with water and smashed my white paper inside of. Then I covered some white paper with the grapefruit grove and highland heather inks. I stamped the flower over it and then fussy cut them out. The sentiment is from Stampin' UP.
The challenge for the shopping our stash challange was to use geometric patterns. So I picked this old embossing folder from my collection, and printed with it. The stamp is an old favorite from Stampendous.

COF end of month challenge
NOVEMBER CHALLENGE!
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
Hello, Crafty sisters! Can you believe the holidays are here? I LOVE this time of year! Peppermint Mocha Lattes, twinkling lights, Hallmark Christmas movies...every good and perfect gift pointing to our Savior. My favorite part of the season? Christmas carols. I LOVE Christmas music, and I have so many CDs that I have to start listening to them in October just to fit them all in! LOL I have a few favorites that make it into heavy rotation (Amy Grant, Kathy Mattea, Point of Grace, Sara Groves), and others that are strictly instrumental and fill the house with the ambient sounds of the season (Jim Brickman, Windham Hill's Celtic Christmas, and more). This month's challenge: Make a card based on one of your favorite Christmas songs or carols. (The Bible verse I chose is often associated with Handel's Messiah, another favorite!) Make sure your card has a little twinkle to represent the light of the world. Bonus points to anyone who includes kraft and gingham in their design (just because I LOVE kraft and gingham!)
So there's your challenge! Plug in that Christmas music and get inspired! I'm even learning some Christmas carols to play on my dulcimer.
Peace and Joy to you!

My Christmas song is "We Three Kings". The chorus sings of the "star of wonder, star of night, star with royal beauty bright...." I used a rhinestoned cross in the center of the star to show how Christ would be the world's salvation. and be the light of the world. As we enter this Advent season, may the true love of Christ dwell in your heart and may you have many opportunities to show His peace and love to all you encounter in the season.

The challenge this week was to make a Christmas card inspired by a favorite Christmas carol. I thought I would use "We Three Kings". I stamped the image onto design paper with versamark ink and then put gold embossing powder on it. It did photograph well, but I like the way it turned out. I added a rhinestone star to the star rays. Glad to be getting a few Christmas cards done for my stash to send out. This image is from Stampendous.

COF September Blog Hop
This scripture came to mind when I think of harvest time from Luke 10:2. These are the words of Jesus,
"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest. " We have started an Evangelism campaign in my church, and it really seems to be the time for Christians to be those workers He is sending out to reap that plentiful harvest of believers and non-believers.
I pre-posted this card because as this blog hop is going on, I am just finishing up being the leader of a Kairos weekend in a Texas Prison Unit. This is a Christian ministry to takes the love of Christ into the prison units around the world.
I used diecuts and punches for this card. I computer generated the scripture, and the cross is from Stampendous. \

Twist of faith challenge #1
Wow, how excited I was to discover this new challenge listed over on The Daily Dare. It is called Twist of Faith.I love challenges that involve scripture and spiritual inspiration. This new paper and stamp set was sent to me by a member of my crafters of faith blog group in which I belong. Kelly sent this flower set and design paper to me as a little surprise gift and I received it around my birthday. The scripture stamp is from Verve and is one of my favorite scriptures. The theme was JOY so I thought these delighful flowers (Stampendous) and this scripture were perfect. I am wishing the this new blog challenge the best wishes and hope the efforts of the design team are richly blessed in this endeavor. I will pledge to do my best to be here every week. It is fun to get started on the first week. I don't think I have done that in a long time.
