CTD 417

On a roll getting some fun challenge cards done. This one is for the Color Throwdown #417 using orange, turquiose, and green. I love inking up my embossing folders, then I spritz it with water and then I smash it onto my card front. I used a stamp from Sweet and Sassy (the silhouette) and the other stamps are from Flourishes.

CTD327

This card is for the Color Throwdown challenge 327. Not only was I inspired by the colors, but also the picture posted on the challenge. I embossed the white heart with a Sizzix embossing folder, colored in some of the parts with copic markers. Then I rubbed Imperial Purple ink (Versafine) over the raised part of the embossing. It is so dark of a purple that it appears black. I really didn't have a sentiment that said what I wanted to say, so I just did a handwritten one. I added a kiwi mat behind the heart, faintly stamped a partial doily onto the yellow background. I added a purple bow and some layered primas with a purple rhinestone middle. It was fun doing a Valentine card in non-traditional colors for the season. You can find the challenge here.

Pastels

This baby card done in pastels is for the Color Throwdown Challenge this week which included celery, barely banana, pretty in pink, and blush blossom. Since I needed a few baby cards I thought these colors were perfect for one. The sketch is from this weeks sketch for the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge #83.  I haven't had as much time for stamping this week, so I did some combining of challenges, which I don't usually do too much. The banana background was embossed as was the blush strip. The onsie stamp is from Flourishes and is paper pieced from a piece of Basic Grey design paper. The bottom mat is actually the cover of one of my Basic Grey design pads front that shows the samplings of the papers in the pad. Thought it would be great to recycle it rather just throw it away.

 I don't always have the colors that are used in the Color Throw Down weekly challenge, but  this week I did, although my nightime photograph using artificial lighting is not giving it much justice. The colors were cake crumb (okay I didn't have that one but used kraft), regal rose, pretty in pink, and old olive.

Color Throw Down #71

The colors for the color throw down this week are olive, red, pink, and brown. I used a piece of Basic Grey design paper that featured red and pink and then I added real red and chocolate chip cardstock to the old olive card base. The wreath was made with the leaves from the Carte Postale set from Stampin' Up's retired collection. The sentiment is a Studio G stamp. I punched out the flowers and the pine needles. The flower centers are chocolate pearls. I was very honored to see my CTD card from last week's challenge recognized in the top three. Wow! I've been a fairly faithful follower of this challenge for quite some time, so it was nice to get the "nod."

Color Throw Down Challenge #70

The colors for the Color Throwdown Challenge this week were dusty durango, old olive, and elegant eggplant. I couldn't find a piece of dusty durango in my papers, but of course, I had the ink. So, I just stamped a houndstooth background to give me the color I needed. The cross is from Layers of Colors' Gothic Cross collection and the scripture is from Sweet and Sassy. The two background stamps used are from Stampin' Up. I used this wonderful green leafy ribbon up the side and added purple primas.
An easy layout, great colors, and a quick card. Just what I needed on this very busy day before Thanksgiving. Wishing all my followers a very Happy Thanksgiving, safe travels, and a blessed day with loved ones!!!!

Color Throw Down #67

I could not find any of my Dusty Durango except for the ink, so here's what I came up with!!!!!

I think it strange that the color challenges keep using up my hoarded stash of some of the past "in colors (just goes to show how popular they still are--this week the soft sky, one week it was purely pomegrante, and one week it was baja breeze.) I have never understood why they get rid of colors that are still so marketable!!! Doesn't make sense to me!!! Luckily, I still have a limited amount of them.

Color Throw Down #66

The colors this week for the color throw down were elegant eggplant, bordering blue, and rich razzleberry. I stamped rich razzleberry on the bordering blue card base and it looked brown. In fact my razzleberry doesn't seem to appear quite the way it is on any part of the card. I stamped the back ground with bella toile and the wreath is from Flourishes. Isn't it a gorgeous one, and lots of fun to color? I put Ranger's glossy accent on the ornaments for added shine!

This stamp is from Inkadinkadoo. The colors for the Color Throw Down were certainly celery, purely pomegranate, and taken with teal. I think I used rich razzleberry instead because I couldn't find any purely pomegranate. This is some of my stashed pomegranate ribbon however!!! This sketch is for the Verve Release week challenge. I'm a day behind but will use today to catch up. The dp is an old piece of retired SU paper.

This is for the color throw down challenge #59 using close to cocoa, pumpkin pie, and ruby red. I pulled out an old retired leaf set from Stampin' Up and one of my favorite scripture stamps from Eureka stamps.

Color Throwdown 58

This card was made for the color throwdown challenge this week with the colors being chocolate chip, always artichoke, and regal rose. I used two different border punches and added dew drops as well. I wove the ribbon to hold the two pieces of chocolate chip cardstock together as a card. I used always artichoke and regal rose markers to color onto the rubber stamp. This set is from Stampin' Up as is the papers and ribbons.

Color Throw Down #57

Positively pink was a retired color from Stampin' Up and I couldn't find a single sheet of it in my stamp room, so I went with a white card base and used the colors of the challenge: positively pink, certainly celery, and bashful blue to color in the image. I masked it and rolled over it with my rough texture wheel in celery. The sentiment was stamped in versafine black.

Color Throwdown Challenge #55

Since these were such bright colors, I think this verse from Proverbs fits the bill! I am using some of the new design paper from Stampin' Up, and I sent the melon mambo through my cuttlebug diecut. It also gives me a chance to see my little grandson, Ethan!

Color Throwdown Challenge #53

For this week's color throwdown challenge of pink pirouette, bordering blue, and rose red. I used my cuttlebug folder inked with rose red ink on the folder to emboss onto the pink. The stamped image is colored with copics and small seed pearls are added for the flower centers.

Color Throw Down #52

I don't use purple or plum very often, so glad this challenge forced my hand on this. The colors for this challenge are plum, chocolate chip, and certainly celery. I love this image from Penny Black that I colored with my copic markers. I cut a diagonal piece of the chocolate chip to divide up the background somewhat. The dots were done in chocolate chip with the polka dot bg stamp from Stampin' Up. All papers, ribbon, and ink pads are from Stampin' Up. The dew drops were added at the last minute. I used soft sky dp, groovy guave cs, and chocolate chip cs.

I used a few of my border punches, my cuttlebug diecut, and my nestabilities. This cross is one of my prettiest in my collection of crosses and it is from Stampabilities. I added a few pearls and this is my creation for the Color Throw Down challenge of the week. These are some colors I love and miss, but fortunately I have a stash.

Color Throw Down #47

This is for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge of kiwi kiss, cameo coral, and tempting turquoise. I colored my white pearls with my copic marker to color coordinate them to match. The rose is from Flourishes and the background stamp is from Stampin' Up. The rose is colored with copic markers, and the leaves are stamped onto kiwi kiss and then hightlighted with a copic marker.

Color Throw Down Challenge #39

I did this card for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge of real red, black, and barely banana. I did the shading on the rose with my buttercup yellow copic marker and thought it was perfect. I also used it to color over my ivory brads to get them the color I wanted. I love that about copics. You can color your white primas and white brads to perfectly match them to your colors. I probably should have added a back layer on this card. But I guess I was conserving cardstock!!??

Color Throw Down #38

This is for this week's Color Thrown Down Challenge (number 38). The colors are ruby red, baja breeze, and basic gray. I stamped the natural white with bella toile with baja breeze ink. I stamped the lilies from Fifth Avenue Florals on ruby red cardstock and then cut them out and added copic markers to do some shading on the lilies. The dots are done with a black Spica metalic pen. The punches are SU's large oval punch, and the border punch is from Martha Stewart as is the leaf punch.
