This week Maryann has challenged us to do a card that would remind someone of a stack of children's blocks. I find any kind of card that requires measuring, folding a certain way and is 3-D to be a real challenge for me. I surprised myself with this one. I love Graphics 45 papers because of their vintage looks and decided these colors and images would fit into my scheme of things. I also had a good time going through my embellsihment stashes and finding just the right ones to add. Thosre are paper roses on the tops of some of the blocks..

C4C197 and Little Red Wagon challenge

Don't you just love it when there are two challenges that are the same for the same week?
So this card is for the Crazy for Challenges 197  and The Little Red Wagon challenge #197. I seem to see a pattern here. This stamp is a little more tedious than the ones I usually use for paper piecing, but I thought this image was so cute from Graphics 45. The sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy stamps. 
My state of Texas has been suffering a drought the past couple of summers, and there is some rain in the weekend forecast for some parts of Texas, so let this little sentiment be my little prayer to those of you that are still in the driest parts of Texas. 

COF June Challenge

June is Dairy Month in Wisconsin. I remember when I was growing up there were dairy breakfasts at farms in our area and my 4-H club had a pie and ice cream social every June. Now--I am not sure that everyone has a dairy themed image. But--if you have something farm related--cow, chickens, ducks, barns, fields, etc. or dairy products related--ice cream, cheese, milk, eggs, cream puffs (the Wisconsin State Fair favorite!), or use your own imagination to honor the dairy farmer. Do you have some farm related DSP or an embossing folder? Chicken wire, barbed wire, farm animals, etc.--please be sure to use that."

I made use of some of my newest Graphic 45 paper. I have had this rooster for quite some time in my collection, which I use for all my Emmaus agape items I love to make. "De Colores" is one of the main songs used on an Emmaus weekend, and in the lyrics it sings about the rooster, the hen, and the baby chicks. I've tried to capture a French Country look in the choice of my colors and the sunflower.

MOJO Monday 288

Okay I am late about getting my mojo this week. It took me until Wednesday to get this card done. I used kraft paper and black cardstock, some fabulous Graphics 45 design paper, and this great set from Verve for my card. I added a rhinestone cross and little diamonds as my only embellishments. Sympathy cards are always the toughest to make. I decided to make a few to have on hand, as it is so tough to make them when you need them.

I thought this was the perfect stamp set for this verse from Proverbs. I don't make long cards very often, but thought a long line of ointment bottles stretched across would be great. Isn't it fabulous to have such a friend who would love you enough to correct you if needed with Christian love. God has sent me a few that I treasure in my sweet collection of friends! Hope you have some of those too!

This week it is a sketch challenge over on Just Us Girls Challenge. I used this sweet vintage image from Graphics 45. They have some really sweet stamps. The sentiment is from Verve.  I colored the image with my copic markers. The punches are Martha Stewart.

Hope You can Cling To

I love the month of October. The air finally gets a little cooler in my part of the world, and a month long campaign goes on over at Splitcoaststampers for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It got started yesterday and this is one of the cards I made for it. After I get a few made, I will mail these to MD Anderson here in Houston for them to share and give to families and patients.
