Stampin' Sisters in Christ #24

Over on Stampin' Sisters in Christ's blog, the challenge was to do a card with a child on it. I love these vintage stamps from Crafty Secrets. Their children images are so sweet and innocent looking. It reflects a time when children could be children, when times were safer, and life was at a slower pace. I'm not sure what the rush is for children to grow up so quickly these days, but I grieve that too often they are robbed of the joys of their childhood. I love the stories in the Bible that speak of the innocence of children and how Jesus called them to Him. The scroll work was cut with a cuttlebug diecut (I'm sorry I don't keep up with the names of each one). My brain is way past overload. The diecut has a large tag, two beautiful borders, and a swirly medallion all on the same diecut plate (if that helps). I ordered it from Oh, My Crafts!

MOJO102

I just love a new week full of new challenges. I find that with the MOJO MOnday challenges I get off to a great start with my stamping week. On today's card I used a cute Crafty Secrets stamp with some new Basic Grey design paper and one of my favorite Stampin' Up colors: cameo coral. I colored the image with copic markers and wheeled the card base with cameo coral ink with the rough wheel to add a little texture to that flat background. I owe a lot of friends thank you cards for some great birthday gifts, so think this will be one of them.

I had such a wonderful week last week. I won this stamp set from Crafty Secrets by participating in one of their challenges over on Paper Craft Planet. I just love their wonderful vintage stamps. I love those sweet little children's faces on their stamp sets. I also won the "outside the box" catagory on the contest Kitchen Sink Stamps had going for the past two months. I'm looking forward to KS's new Monday challenges that will give stampers a chance to win some Kitchen Sink stamps. These are two great companies that put a lot of incentive out there for stampers to participate in these fun challenges.

I just love this sweet image from Crafty Secrets. I wanted the dp to have a touch of pink in it so I drew in some pink lines with a copic marker. The image was colored with copic markers and I love how they blend .

It is so fun when you get a surprise in the mail from a new friend. A while back I got some stamped images from Joan Ervin. They were images from Crafty Secrets, and all the little children in the images had the sweetest little faces. I decided to use one of these images for today's color challenge on Splitcoaststampers. The colors were kiwi kiss, rose red, and more mustard. These are three colors I would not have necessarily put to gether on my own. But then, isn't that why doing this challenge is so much fun? If you are just getting started in this hobby, I encourage you to visit Splitcoaststampers.com and check out the thousands of ideas that are shared there on a daily basis. I give them all the credit for all the ways I have grown and perfected my skills. WARNING: you might begin to spend more time looking and have less time for stamping.
