Make My Monday Challenge
This was for a color challenge for Make My Monday. The butterfly is the old retired Stipple Butterfly stamp from Stampin' Up. It's a stamp I will forever have in my collection. The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers. I embossed the card base, diecut the frame and cirlce and stamped the image in tuxedo black. I colored it with my copic markers.

It's sneak peek time at MFP!
I've been busy using these 6 new sets coming out next week to give you some ideas of how fabulous these new sets are before the release and Blog Hop at Mark's Finest Papers. There are great choices for fall, winter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. You will love the stamps and the sentiments. Here's a peek at one of them.

Hope You can cling to challenges have begun!
October is here and so is SCS's fabulous Hope You Can Cling To challenges. There will be a new challenge each day, and today there are three! It is fun and I enjoyed taking part last year, winning a prize, and receiving a sweet note of appreciation from MD Anderson for contributing my cards for women who are fighting breast cancer to use for their personal use. Living just outside of Houston, I know how many women have successfully overcome their cancers, especially when detected early.
My card is using stamps from Mark's Finest Papers and is photographed on the new Global Promise Fund Calendar for 2012 from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. It has beautiful pink skyscapes from around the world and other pink elements in other parts of the world. It is gorgeous. You might want to visit the komen.org website to see who you might receive one.
Hope you will join in the fun over at Splitcoaststampers.

Anniversary Challenge #52 for Speedy's Friends
It's an anniversary for Speedy the Cat's Friends Blog Challenge. One fabulous year of great card making and many lucky winners of stamps sets and the opportunity to be featured stamper. You won't want to miss the fun and the opportunity to win a new stamp set. The challenge is to make an anniversary card. I used two of Mark's Finest Papers' sets for this card: Hearts Hearts Hearts and Just Dandy. I stamped the heart with angel pink ink and the dandilion I colored onto the stamp with Stampin' Up markers: melon mambo and certainly celery. The pink did not show up as nicely as I had hoped it would so I punched these little flowers out with a Creative Memories mini punch. Sometimes things turn out better when you mess up. I always try to convince stampers that mistakes are only opportunities to get MORE creative. I thought this card would be very pleasing to the CAS fans since this is a single layered card that is mostly white. I used some terrific white cardstock that is fabulously thick from Mark's Finest Papers as well.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ #85
The challenge this week is to use versamark ink somewhere on your card for a tone on tone look. I used a Fiskar stamp using the Versamark for my background. I used the watercan from Mark's Finest Papers' new release, In My Mother's Garden. I added the paper punched leaves and flowers and a brown ribbon (although it looks black in this photo).

Belli Challenge for letter C
Being a retired Kindergarten teacher, I love these letter challenges. This one is for the letter C for this week's Belli Challenge. I used cameo coral and certainly celery cardstock to make a celebration card by stamping a cupcake with chocolate icing colored with copic markers and a cherry on top. I used curves and circles and a cuttlebug for the background circles. I heated the ribbon so that it was crumpled looking and one of the ribbons was chocolate colored. These are always a fun challenge and the letter "C" was a great one to select this week. The stamps are from Mark's Finest Papers. The ribbons I have had for some time as is the cuttlebug folder that I used.

Another Sneak Peek from MFP
It is always so fun to get to stamp during Sneak Peek week at Mark's Finest Papers. I am always so anxious to get these babies inked up and going. I love vintage stamps, and this one is especially a great one that I think you will love. I find it so endearing that Faith's ancestors have always had a love for animals and she includes them in the stamps. This set is available next week during MFP's Blog Hop week. You won't want to miss all the great things the design team creates using these fabulous stamps.
African Veldt sneak peek
I just love this new set from Mark's Finest Papers and know you will too. It will be available next week.
There are so many great things that can be done with this set, and these sentiments are a great addition to the set. I am always more challenged with masculine cards, but this set would be fabulous for any card giving necessary. Keep checking here all week to see some of the other great stamps soon to be released. Click Mark's Finest Papers on the sidebar and it will link you directly over to their blog. From there you can enter the shopping adventures you will find available there. So many great papers and supplies. Even my beloved copics.

Loved these rich colors for the holidays and it really seem to make the metallic gold pop. I used gold Smooch on the horn. Tiny red beads made perfect little holly berries. The paper punch is my newest one from Martha Stewart. The design paper is from Paper Studio. The burgandy paper I'm not sure the source of, but the deep mahoganey is from Mark's Finest Papers.

Happy Anniversary, Mark's Finest Papers!!
Wow, Mark's Finest Papers is celebrating their first anniversary and what an exciting year it has been. Not only do they have the greatest papers (the light pink cardbase for this card is using some of it), but they also add 4 to 6 new clear stamp sets a month. All have been fabulous and fun (like this cute cupcake for this card). I love that each set is clear and includes sentiments of various sizes and adorable images, most of which are from nature. Each set is the exact same size which makes storing a breeze and are so affordable at $15.95, especially with the variety of stamps you receive with each set. Many sets also include a stamp that can easily be made into a border and many that include great background stamps too. More and more papers, embellishments, diecuts are being added daily, which makes a visit to their shop always exciting. Congratulations, MFP!!

Influenced by this pretty piece of Basic Grey design paper, I punched some flowers making use of these colors to be the scene behind my skunks. I just think these skunks are the cutest things. A funny story: I made a little mask from a post it note to make this card. The other day the mask must have fallen to the floor. I went in to my stamp room to stamp one of those early morning cards (the kind when you are still in your pajamas). Then I headed to the bathroom to take my bath to get my day going. I guess I didn't realize this mask had attached itself to the bottom of my foot. I got into my bath water, laid out to enjoy a morning soak and the next thing I know I find this little skunk floating on the water. I just had to laugh at how this little guy followed me around that morning.
The fern stamp I used for this also is a Mark's Finest Paper stamp from Chickadee and Fern set. I punched the little flowers with a mini flower punch.

Speedy the Cat's Friends' Blog Challenge
Although we are a long way from fall weather in the part of the world I live in, some of the wonderful other things that I love about fall are going to be happening soon. Football, family gatherings, fall festivals, and retreats. This stamp is part of a new stamp set soon to be released from Mark's
Finest Papers in September.

Speedy's Friends' Challenge #15
The challenge for this week over at Speedy's Friends challenge was to make your own embellishments.
So, I made my own ribbon roses. I loved this pretty pink ribbon I got from Mark's Finest Papers as well as the beautiful soft pink cardstock that came from MFP too. This cute birdhouse is a sneak peek at a soon to be released set called Tweet blessings. It is a fabulous set. I embossed the cardbase with my swiss dot folder with my cuttlebug. My roses are held together with ScorPal tape. It worked perfect without this being totally frustrating.
Welcome to all the new designers for the Blog challenge. I am really proud that my sweet sister and stamping passion partner, Lynn is coming aboard along with the very talented Joanne and Geri. I look forward to seeing all of the fabulous and wonderful things the team has planned for the months to come.
