CCEE1806

Hello friends!
Kelly is here again with a new challenge.
It's almost Valentine's Day, so this week, instead of making
 a traditional Valentine's Day card,
we're making cards showing something we love ♥

If you link up to a gallery, please use the keyword CCEE1806
or use Mr. Linky over on the CCEEStampers blogWe'd love to see what you make!

On my card I wanted to represent one of the things I love doing and that is making my own music. I am not saying it is good, but I am saying I do enjoy singing and playing music. I also am not young and thin like this image (stamp from Unity), but while I am using my imagination, I can go there with my imagination for an instant, can't I??  It is great to have a passion!!!

Rubbernecker challenge #25 Grunge

I used this scripture stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps for this grunge Valentine. I had fun scrunching paper, distressing edges, tearing paper, and inking edging and stamping spots to add that grunge look to my card. I also am using up scraps of design papers from my bags of color coded pieces.  You can find the Rubbernecker challenge HERE.

Crafting by designs challenge - Washi

I am checking out some new challenges for me in 2018 and found this one on Paper Playful.
The challenge can be found HERE. I love CAS and I love making Valentines, so I used some new washi tape for this little Valentine I made for this challenge. I decided to add a line of embossing just to add a little texture to it. The same is one of those cute bargain stamps from Michael's.

Come and Get it Challenge

Inspired by this beautiful Pandora charm, I created this Valentine, that makes use of a Unity Stamp.
I used red, white, and silver glittered design paper. I added red rhinestones and used a red marker to outline the red border to eliminate an extra layer of paper. Makes it lighter and easier to mail.

This is for the SCS Inspiration challenge this week, and also  the Come and Get it Challenge.

Valentines are such a wonderful time of year to make cards.

CAS on Sunday #75 Paper Piecing

Paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques, so I thought I'd add this to the CAS on Sunday challenge.  I decided I needed a few more Valentines, so I used this heart from my stamp stash using some red polka dotted design paper for the heart. I had some ink still on my embossing folder left from a previous project and ran it through my Cuttle Bug. Pretty clean and simple and then stamped the Love to the other side. A quick and easy Valentine.

ODBDSLC 189

The challenge was to use something that started with L O V E on your card. Of course I also used the word love, but my L things were a lacey border punch, leaves, lavendar roses, and ladybugs. My o was an oval, my V was a velvet valentine, Versamark ink, and  vellum. My E was embossing the sentiment and also embossing the vellum.  I have been enjoying making Valentines this year and can't believe in 10 days it will be here The stamp is from ODBD.  Hope your February has  been full of love and you are showing God's love everywhere you go.

C4C172 and F4A155

I was checking out what the challenge for the Crazy for Challenges was for this week. It is to do a Valentine not using reds and pinks. I so loved the blue and brown combo used in the challenge for the Free For All Challenge on Friday, that I just had to use that color combo. I embossed some kraft paper for the top portion of my card. Stamped a lace border on the bottom portion out of Baja Breeze ink and I mistakingly threw away the packaging on that lace border set  when I put it in a box for well keeping. I punched the lacey dp heart with a paper punch and the blue dp with a diecut. I added the light blue ribbon and stamped on the sentiment which is from an old SU set.

Belli Challenge 136

The Belli Challenge is to use hearts. I punched my hearts using this Martha Stewart punch, and then I stamped some pretty in pink hearts from an old retired set from Stampin' UP. I embossed the white paper before punching with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I added the wide pink ribbon and pearls.

Using those old forgot stamps

I have gone to putting all my old Stampin' Up sets into tubs fitting categories so that they are easier to find when I would like to use them. I started a heart and Valentine tub that anything in that fits that category. Last week I pulled that tub out and rediscovered some of these old favorite stamps I needed to be using for Valentines Day. I love seeing how these work with new ways to embellish and new papers. There is nothing worse than neglected rubber!!!LOL Show some of your old stamps a little love every once and a while. The sketch I used is today's sketch on SCS's sketch challenge.

Stampin' Sisterhood

It's Sunday and my idea of relaxing on Sunday includes some time in my stamp room. I am also working hard on Valentines this week, so I made this sketch challenge over on Stampin' Sisterhood's Sunday challenge a good one to try. Here's what I came up with and I wanted to use my new stamp I received a couple of weeks ago from Rubbernecker because I won the challenge drawing a couple of weeks ago. I had been eyeing this medallion stamp for a long time over there and so I knew just which one to pick when given a choice. It's always fun to win something!!! I added a heart stamp from Stampin' Up and a scripture stamp from Stampabilities. I cuttlebugged the card base with a cuttlebug folder. Added some grandy ribbon and some pearls. Quick and easy Valentine!

SFFTT

The other day I got out a big tub of heart and Valentine stamps that haven't been used in a while. As you can see I used an ancient one on this cute sketch over on the Sketches for Fun to Try for January. I found this little scrap of Basic Grey with the hearts on it and then found this scrap of gingham and decided they looked pretty good together. The image is an old Stampin' Up (probably a Sellabration from years ago, and a sentiment from MFP (a Heinrich co.) It is fun to pull some of those oldies out to see what they look like on new sketches and with new embellishments.

CAS Friday 34

I've been trying to do at least one challenge a day and use at least two or three scraps from my paper piles as my new year's stamping resolution. Today I am doing the CAS-ual Friday challenge. I bought a whole bag of these glittery chipboard hearts so decided they would work perfect for this challenge and would add another Valentine to my collection. Check out this challenge HERE.

Color Throw Down Challenge 173

This week's colors for the Color Throw Down Challenge is red, black, and gray/silver. That is my all time favorite color combo especially for my Valentines. I used some silver cs that I embossed, a scrap of dp from Paper Studio, red scraps and put it on a black card base. I got out my Valentine tub of some old favorites that I haven't used in a while. This stamp is from an old SU retired set.  I added glittered chip board and black pearls with some silver metallic ribbon.

Speedy the Cat's Friends' challenge

The challenge this week is to make a Valentine. Instead of using the hearts from Mark's Finest Papers' Hearts, hearts, hearts set, I decided to diecut my hearts and use the pansies from the January released sets. The sentiment is from Hearts, Hearts, Hearts. I loved these colors from Basic Grey's Indian Summer. I colored my pansies with my copic markers and put white gel pen dots around my heart. Handmade Valentines are a wonderful way to tell  someone special how much you love them. Be sure to stop back by next week to get a peek at some of the soon to be released new sets from Mark's Finest Papers.

This is for the Speedy the Cat's Friends' Challenge this week to use embossing. I used the woven background stamp from Mark's Finest Papers and also the large heart from the Hearts, Hearts, Hearts set from Mark's Finest Papers. I love making Valentines, my other favorite card sending time of the year!! I used Versamark ink and gold embossing powder. The red paper is from Basic Grey which I also used for the heart that was embossed. The pink heart I diecut with my nestabilites. I added a little bow and heart button.

Speedy's Friends Challenge

HAPPY NEW  YEAR!!!! Here's hoping your 2011 will be filled with God's blessings and plans for your life.

This is for the Speedy's Friends' Blog Challenge to use something new. My new thing is the Basic Grey paper I used for this card. I also tried a new color scheme for Valentines' Day.  I sanded off the black from embossed panel and used white embossing powder for the stamped hearts. The yellow cardstock, Basic Grey paper, stamps, and organdy ribbon are all from Mark's Finest Papers.

Kitchen Sink Stamps must be used and I have a limited collection so decided this little squirrel would be a different little creature to be passing along a Valentine!! I love making Valentines. It's my favorite card making time of the year. So get out those stamps and make you a bunch to send to your friends and relatives. They will love getting an original, handmade card of love from you!!!
