Mod Squad - SNOW

Here is my last minute entrance to the Mod Squad challenge this week. I am having so much fun with this snow pen I found at Hobby Lobby when I went shopping the after Christmas sales. This stamp is from Penny Black, and the inked background is done with Oxide Distress inks. I colored the snowman's accessories with copic markers. Hope everyone is keeping warm during this terrific freeze that is covering so much of America!! I unlike this snowman am not enjoying it so much. We just get the cold but not the snow in our part of the country, and I guess I should not complain. Except our humidity always makes it seem even colder even without the snow.

Wow, I am so honored to see that this card was selected as one of the top three last week over on the Mod Squad blog.

Sweet Sketch 233

Loved this layout for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge today. I used Basic Grey design paper and Baja breeze and white.

My personal challenge has been to make at least one Christmas card a day using one of the fun challenges I find on The Daily Dare. Hopefully by the first week of December I will have my cards all made and will start to address and mail them out. No two are alike, so the fun part is deciding who gets what card!!

January Penny Black challenge

January Blues is the theme for this month's challenge over at Penny Black's challenge blog. I used this flower stamp from Peny Black and put it together with some light blue cardstock and a soft blue and green plaid design paper.

Penny Black 208

This week's Penny Black challenge is to use metal. I have had these metal flowers for a long time and since my goal this year is to use up some of the stashed stuff in my stamping room. So along with these corduroy brads, they make up the metal on this card. I also cuttlebugged this Sizzix embossing folder for the texture and used my copics for the cute frog image. You can find the PB challenge here.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 206

The challenge was to use 5 circles. I used this Penny Black stamp several times and then punched it out into circles. The punched piece is vellum. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and to all the dads out there, Happy Father's Day.

SC362

Woke up early this morning to the coldest day we have had this season. Guess that's why I grabbed up this snowman, huh?? Course, I live on the Texas Gulf Coast, so snow is not what our cold usually offers. It's usually cold and damp. Course, with our summer droughts this year, I guess I need to embrace whatever damp we get. This card was made for the sketch challenge today on Splitcoaststampers, my favorite place to go every day of the week. Their challenges offer me my MOJO of inspiration and so I have been a faithful member for over 7 years now. I can't seem to get motivated to get tree trimmed or my cards in the mail yet, but I am having a heck of a lot of fun creating. Merry Christmas and safe travels during all the hustle and bustle of the season.

Friday Sketchers #81

I decided that the really fun way to make the rest of my Christmas cards is to find every challenge I can and make it a Christmas card theme. I loved this one that I found over on the Daily Dare today called Friday Sketchers. The stamp I used is from Penny Black, the papers are various design papers from my pink scrap bag. I used my nestabilities for the center scallops, inverted scallops and circle. Martha Stewart punches provided the snowflake. I used copic markers to color in my tuxedo black Memento inked image. Half pearls surround the snowman. I have to tell you, it has been snowing at my house since this morning and this is such a rare thing for those of us who have been raised on the Texas Gulf Coast area. This is a record for the earliest snow we have ever received. In my liftime I think I've only seen falling snow around 8 times and I am over a half of a century old!!! LOL I am just loving the peacefulness of the snow softly coming down. Most of it is melting on the ground but some of it is accumulating. God sends us unexpected surprises sometimes, just so we can be in awe of who He is!!!

Winter Wonderland on Penny Black's Saturday Challenge

This is my only winter stamp from Penny Black, and I think it is my cutest of snowmen stamps. I punched a few large snowflakes with my Martha Stewart punch, and cuttlebugged the background with my snowflake folder. The dp is some baja breeze dp from SU. The image was colored with my copic markers and bling added to the snowflake and prima gave it a glimmer!

Copic Colour challenge 29

I love checking out the Copic Colour challenge every week, but this week I did not have any of the colors they used but here are the closest I did have: YG95, E09, YR21. The stamp is from Penny Black. The card base is close to cocoa. The dp was a piece of plaid from my scrap box. Used white dew drops as embellishment.

Color Throw Down #52

I don't use purple or plum very often, so glad this challenge forced my hand on this. The colors for this challenge are plum, chocolate chip, and certainly celery. I love this image from Penny Black that I colored with my copic markers. I cut a diagonal piece of the chocolate chip to divide up the background somewhat. The dots were done in chocolate chip with the polka dot bg stamp from Stampin' Up. All papers, ribbon, and ink pads are from Stampin' Up. The dew drops were added at the last minute. Click here to check out this challenge.

I did this for the High Hopes Stamp sketch challenge that can be found at this site. Loved this new dp I found at my local scrapbook store. I did the coloring of the image with copics.

Guess I'd load a bunch of cards I've done for some of the challenges over on PaperCraftPlanet.com. This was for one of the color challenges last week. Really rust, cameo coral, vanilla, and chocolate chip. I found this stamp at Hobby Lobby during the 50% off sale.
