Honoring our Mothers

The challenge for today's Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge was to make a Mother's Day card. I used a piece of core'dinations textured paper to emboss and sand for the background panel. Then I used the Embrace Life set from Stampin' Up for the flowers and the sentiment is also from Stampin' Up. I colored on the flowers that were stamped onto sweet blush from Paper Trey Inks and then colored it dimensionally with my copic makers. The leaves are a Martha Stewart punch.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ #33

The challenge for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ was based on the scripture, John 3:16. Your card was to represent something that represents LOVE to you. Well, I just happen to have this scripture on my latest Verve stamp set, so I could not think of anything that shows more love than the love of which these words speak.

I love this paper from Basic Grey that I mounted onto Scarlet Jewel cardstock (PTI).

I hope everyone had a very blessed Easter and were reminded of just how much God loves you in these words.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #17

Scripture:

Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not store up for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
This is for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge to give up some of the treasures I have been hoarding for a while now. I thought these rhinestone flowers would be beautiful on Christmas cards, but have not parted with very many of them. After reading this scripture, I was also reminded of the treasures laid before the Christ Child by the Wise Men of the East. How very precious God's gift through Christ is to us. So, while I am looking over the tiny treasures I've stored in my craft room, I know that this scripture speaks volumes to me. Christ is the treasure of my heart  and how I rejoice that nothing of this earth can take it away. If I practice His ways and His truths I truely will be blessed with those things that are not of this earth and are certainly the wonders of the Lord working in me. Be Christ's instrument this blessed season and show the world who your heart does belong to!!

Stampin' Sisters in Christ

I was so glad to see the challenge for today on Stampin' Sisters in Christ to make a card telling someone you are praying for them. I have a very dear friend who just found out very recently that her sister has a brain tumor, surgery was done immediately, but the doctors were not able to remove all of the cancer they found. These women as children lost their own father many years ago on Christmas Day, after what was to be a non-life threatening procedure. My friend struggles to find a joy about Christmas because of this sad event and now this Christmas she is faced with the news about her sister. I am sending this card as an alternative Christmas card to her and I ask for prayers from all of you wonderful Christian Sisters for peace and a spirit of grace for this Christmas season as my friend and her sister and their families face this difficult situation at this Christmas season. My friend is a faithful Christian, and totally believes in the power of prayer. I know she will feel your prayers as God helds my friend and her loved ones close to Him this Christmas.

Color Dare #41

I love this Gothic Cross set from Layers of Color. The scripture is from Sweet and Sassy. The rhinestone cross just fits perfectly in the center of this cross stamp. I cuttlebugged the soft suede with the paisley folder and sponged the edges of the vanilla with soft suede ink. I used by bermuda bay ribbon for the first time today. I really love these colors.

Deuteronomy 31:6 Stamping Sisters in Christ

This is for challenge 11 for Stamping sisters in Christ. I had this stamp of the verse preceding the scripture that was mentioned from Deuteronomy 31:8. It also reflects that God is always with us!!! I had to make use of my newest toys, my new Martha Stewart punches that I used my coupons on!! The design paper is from Basic Grey's Indian Summer collection. I love the colors in it. I hope this challenge spreads some encouraging words of hope to many people who may be going through a tough time right now. God is with you and He will see you through. His peace in times of trouble is such a blessing.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ #9

This is for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge #9, which was to use a nativity and the scripture is from Luke 2;11 "Today in the town of David a savior has been born to you, He is Christ the Lord." (NIV) I used my new Martha Stewart punches and colored this Stampin' Up image in rich cocoa Memento ink. I colored it with my copic markers and added ribbon and flowers. The holly leaves are a Martha Stewart punch. I used a rhinestone cross for the star and rhinestone centers for the flowers. The card base is not quite navy cardstock and the dp is from Basic Grey.

Stampin' Sister in Christ Challenge #8

This is for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge #8, which was to do a baby card. I used Flourishes' Baby Love set. I love this bassinet and the sweet verse. I also used Flourishes' basket weave stamp for the background. I used regal rose ink and some SU design paper and some Basic Grey design paper using my nestabilities to cut the shapes. The white paper is from Paper Trey Ink. The verse is stamped in Memento's black tuxedo.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ #6

The challenge was to make a thinking of you card or prayed for you card. I used my Kitchen Sink 3-step butterfly for this card today. Having attended the Kitchen Sink event in Georgia a week ago, I learned so much to help me improve my skills in this technique. I used memento inks and found that stamping in a different order helped me keep these layers lined up better. I used a piece of silver chrome cardstock up the side of the black panel (although it looks gold in this photo). Those are silver dew drops up the side by the doily punched edge. The sentiment is from Verve. I have just the friend who might could use a little lift just knowing someone is praying for her. I'll mail this out in the morning. Bring a little sunshine you can to someone who is going through a tough time. What a great way to spread God's love!

Stampin' Sisters in Christ

I was so excited to find over on Daily Dare this new challenge on Sundays: http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/. Here's the card I made with a food item on it. I printed out the verse from Isaiah on my computer then punched it out. I'm trying out some of the new in colors and papers from Stampin' Up and the strawberries are from Flourishes. I colored the image with my Copic markers.
