COF April Challenge

Here is the challenge for this month:

I spent my childhood being called April Showers or even April Flowers.....hence my email address of aflowers.... It would probably be called bullying nowadays, but I seemed to take it all in stride. Because of this moniker, I wanted to highlight a verse which is about Spring. I think this one is apropos!

Leviticus 26:4 - Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Although my verse does not say flowers explicitly, a plant must flowers before it bears fruit. I would love your card this month to show off flower --- stamps, die cuts, crocheted, etc! {If you want, you can add rain, but that isn't a necessity.}

Have fun with this verse and the glorious Spring Season!

We have been having the much needed rain that we have been needing and it has certainly increased the yield of the nature around us.

My stamp I used is from Flourishes, which is my favorite of all places to buy any floral stamps. The border punch is from Martha Stewart and the sentiment is from Verve.

Hope the Lord is reigning over your life, and the fruit you are producing are abundant for His kingdom.

COF February Challenge

For the Crafters of Faith challenge this month, Tami asked us to use scoring on our cards, to NOT use the usual Valentine colors of red or pink anywhere on the card, and to use a stamped image and sentiment on the front. So I did some fun scoring on this. I stamped this flower from Paper Trey Ink and the sentiment from Verve on this card, and picked this light sage, yellow, and mustard color scheme. I colored the flower with my copic markers.

As you read this post, I will be helping lead music on an Emmaus weekend. Please pray for the team that leads this weekend, the ladies who will be the participants, and their families as they are away

. Embrace your weaknesses, because they are God's unique gifts to us that we can use that bring only glory to God (thanks, Carla McDougal, for that awesome insight). He magnifies in ways that only He can, and gives us power over the weak spots! God is so good and His love endures forever.

COF challenge for December

For our December challenge, we wish to "SNOW" you our winter inspired Crafter of Faith cards!

COF sisters: Create a card/project using a snowy-winter theme and "ring in the new year with glitter and bling!" Your winter/snow card creation should reflect the beauty of the gift of the season - snow, winter, snowflakes, etc and include bling and glitter to ring in the joy of what will be

I used the embossing resist technique on my card. On white cardstock, I stamped the snowflake images (from Stampin' Up) with Versamark. I embossed with clear and white embossing powder. I sponged on baja breeze and pacific point ink around the snowflakes. I punched the snowflakes from white and pacific point paper and wrote the 2013 on them. For the glitter and bling, I added rhinestones and glittery ribbon.

October Challenge for COF

Wow, the end of the month caught me off guard today, I guess because it was Halloween. Sharon gave us a wonderful challenge for our end of the month challenge with our crafters of faith group. The scripture she selected is from 1 Thes. 5:16-18 -"Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." She challenged us to make a Thanksgiving card or a card of thanks for someone who has been a blessing to me. I have to say my COF friends have been a blessing to me this year. I was the  leader of a spiritual retreat at a Women's prison in September, and these wonderful women prayed for me and the women who were participants and also for my team members. The weather was unusually hot and we endured an un-airconditioned gym for 3 days, but I think these women realized that nothing was going to stand between them and God's love for them. We had 40 women attend and they have been faithfully returning each week to stay connected as a Christian community by attending our prayer and shares and the reunions. Thank you, COF friends, as these prayers were so very special to us all and are the soul of the weekend.

The pumpkins are a multi-layered stamp set from Kitchen Sink stamps, which are so unique and the images so realistic. The sentiment is from Flourishes.

My COF June challenge card

I am going out of town for a few days, so I needed to complete this COF challenge before I left. Liz D picked our "Fun in the Sun" theme. I also used this for today's WT381 challenge over on Splitcoaststampers.
It was to use children on your card or make a card for a child. I love the beach in the summer and I have always treasured this stamp from Stampin' Up that is in my all time collection of retired stamps that I will never get rid of. I have only one sister as a sibling, so these sister type of stamps are always appealing to me as well. Hope you are staying cool in the HOT summer and are enjoying the things you love most about the season. Blessings to you!
