Paper Players 251

This week the challenge is a sketch challenge for the Paper Players. Masculine cards are always the cards I have the least on hand in my card stash. So I decided this was going to be one that could be used for a masculine card. I used a pretty sheet of design paper for the back panel, and used this image from a Sweet and Sassy stamp set and a matching sentiment. Check out the sketch over at the Paper Players blog.

CAS on Sunday 61

 

The challenge on CAS on Sunday #61 was to make a one layered card. That is one of my favorite things to do and I really like making one layered collage cards. So, on my card today, I used an old retired background stamp from Stampin' Up, then I do some multilayered stamping using some Kitchen Sink Stamps for the pen and butterfly, The postage stamp and cancelation stamps are also Kitchen Sink Stamps. Then for the final thing was to ink an embossing folder and stamp with it the geometric pattern. I wanted to leave some of the card clear of all stamping as it is a CAS card.

I make my stencil from the negative side of my leaf diecut. It works so beautifully. I sponge the Mountain Pine and Pear tart Memento ink on, added some small punched flowers, and centered them with pearls. A simple but elegant look. I had the sentiment in my Sweet and Sassy container, so I assume it is from there, unless I misplaced something cleaning up.

CCEE1526 Weddings

Hi, today is my last challenge to host for June. As a child, I remember the local newspaper selected a June bride to feature in a specially published section of the paper in the month of June. Only one was selected, so I am sure it was a great honor. For our final challenge of the month, make a card featuring a bridal couple or a wedding cake.

I had some fun using my embossing plate like it was a icing decorating kit. Not sure of the source for the little bride and groom. The leaves are from Stampendence and the hydrangea punch is from Martha Stewart.  The design paper is from my stasch of old Stampin' Up design papers.

Such great summer colors this week on Color Throwdown 348. Decided to go with a patriotic theme for July 4th.

 

Stenciling and fall colors

I made this card for two challenges using stenciling, and also for the color challenge over on JUGS298. Less is More 229 and Tuesday Throwdown challenge 250 both had stenciling as their challenge. I love using my diecut scraps as my stencils for cards. These leaves seemed perfect for the fall colors for the JUGS challenge. The sentiment is from Verve.
