It's challenge time again and Frances is back with another fun challenge for us all.
Today is National Librarian Day, so for our challenge this week use a book as your inspiration …. Children's or Adults.
Having been a kindergarten teacher for over 20 years, one of my favorite authors for young children is Eric Carle, who not only authored his books, but was also the illustrator for them. His art is so delightfully done, most often in a unique tissue paper collage mixed with his paints.
So for a fun card today, I used his very hungry caterpillar that not only shows the stages a butterfly or moth goes through in its life cycle in the book, but it also provides the daily order of the days of the week.
If you are familiar with this story, you know that the caterpillar eats through many things during the week, and on his last day before he goes into his chrysalis, he eats through some green leaves to settle his tummy. So, that is why I punched holes in my leaves for a bottom border.

I remember reading this book to my girls when they were young and it was the inspiration for my Niece to create her nursery decor for her last baby. It is such a wonderful story.
Another book I'm not familiar with, but I sure do love your funny caterpillar! Cute, cute card!

I love this - a super take on your inspiration and very well carried out - the punched leaves are a great addition. I remember buying that book for the daughter of friends - I was working in the UK at the time and bought it over there to bring back on one of my trips. It was the first time I had read it, when I read it with her, and I still remember what fun it was to read.
