MOJO 141

Loved this new paper from Basic Grey from the Cappella collection. I put a light gray card base to this and then used blush blossom and always artichoke as coordiantion pieces to go with it. I used stamps from Verve. I used one of my spellbinder tags with it and nestabilities for the circles. I put together two strips of an organdy ribbon, and also using a wide satin brown ribbon.

Crazy 4 Challenges 49

What fun it was to create this tent card for the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge this week. I just got this cute crab last week while visiting a nearby scrapbook and stamp store close by. He is from Inkadinkado.
The cute design paper is from K & Company. The cardbase paper is hazelnut tan from Mark's Finest Papers as is the Yum yum's Blue eyes (the pale blue for the inner frame). Everything else came out of my scrap box.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #41

The challenge was to use a heart on your card. I have sorted all my heart stamps into one tub together, so as I was rooting through that tub, I found this old stamp that hasn't been used in quite some time. Isn't that what we do to God sometimes? Put Him in a box and away for awhile, when He really should be our every focus?
I hope this finds you letting God live in your heart and that your faithfulness just radiates from your heart into every other aspect of your life. Blessings to you on this fabulous Sabbath!

Inlinkz Challenge #1

This is for the first challenge over on Inlinkz Blog. The challenge was to do a boy birthday card using the colors of a selected palette. I used cool caribbean, kiwi kiss, pacific point, and hazelnut tan from my paper collection. These three frogs just seem to scream BOY to me!! I also used torn paper to give it the rougher edges that remind me of boys as well. After coloring my frogs with a copic marker, I added a little of the blender pen to lighten up the color and then I used crackle accents over the top. The frogs are from Inkadinkadoo.

Speedy's Friends' Blog Challenge #5

Vicki selected our challenge this week as silhouettes. I loved these palm trees from Mark's Finest Papers' Our Family Tree set. I brayered the bermuda bay ink onto the white panel. The light blue paper, white paper, and yellow paper are from Mark's finest Papers. I punched out a circle for the sun and used a Martha Stewart punch for the border pattern. The sentiment is also from the same Our Family Tree set.

I hope you join Speedy's Friends this week in the challenge and link your card over on
 Mark's Finest Papers' Blog.

CWC005-A touch of green

I am so excited about finding this challenge and am so honored that my card was selected last week as one of the top five. I have used another Mark's Finest Paper set this week too. This is one of my absolute favorites. I used my cuttlebug seashell diecut to embellish this card in a clean and simple way! I love one layer cards so I choice to stamp my image directly onto my cardbase. I used my bamboo stalk Memento pad for my little touch of green. I sponged soft sky by Stampin' Up for my sky and put a little pumpkin pie onto a dauber to make my sun. A few copics added a little color to the palm tree. Hope this brings everyone a pleasant summer memory. I live near the Gulf of Mexico so the oil spill is of great concern to me as it will certainly effect the wildlife in our area, and wanted to use this card to remind people of the coastal beauty that needs to be protected. Here's a link to this wonderful challenge.

Belli Challenge 92

This is a sketch challenge for Belli's Challenge this time and also it must use flat embellishments (like flat ribbon, flat stickers, no bows or knots). I think paper punches add a great addition to the flatness of a card, so I used a Martha Stewart punch on this card. The stamp is from Flourishes' new cherry blossom set. I think it is just gorgeous. I stamped it with tuxedo black (Memento) ink and colored it with my copics. I used a flat piece of gray taffeta ribbon.
Hope you join us in the challenge this week and please link your cards over at the Creative Belli Challenge blog. We always love seeing the creativeness of all of you creative challenge followers.

Kitchen Sink Challenge #25

I'm down to the wire to enter the Kitchen Sink challenge for the month, but since I already had done a few graduation cards with this graduation set from Kitchen Sink I decided to do Julie's sketch for the challenge this month. I used white paper for the card base, cuttlebugged it and used burgandy strips. The gold metallic chrome paper I used for the mat for the oval and my date circles. I used charcoal, tuxedo black, and bravo burgandy ink.

Color Dare #68

The colors for the color dare challenge this week are rich razzleberry, soft suede, crushed curry, and old olive. I used the leaves from the Spring Breeze set from Mark's Finest papers and a butterfly stamp from the Butterflies, Dianthus, and Flourishes set also from Mark's Finest Papers. I added some primas and pearls and punched a few leaves from a Martha Stewart punch, as is the border. The design paper had many of these colors in it so I used it.

Please join us in the challenge by linking your card over on the Color Dare Challenge blog. Use keywords CD68 if you are using your SCS gallery.

Going Grey Scrap Creations#12

This  week's challenge was a sketch challenge. I used two different scraps of Basic Grey paper and used Mark's Finest Paper's hazelnut tan for my card base. I stamped the leaves in kiwi kiss and punched the small red flowers adding dew drop centers.

Speedy's Friends' Blog Challenge#4

This week's challenge was to use an animal on your card. All of these butterflies are from different sets from Speedy's Collection, so I decided these were the animals I would use for my card. The butterfly on the top left is from the Daffodil and Anise set, the butterfly in the center right is from the Spring and Easter set, and the bottom butterfly is from the Butterflies, Dianthus, and Flourishes set. The yellow cardstock is from Mark's Finest Papers. The design paper is from Basic Grey. The flowers and leaves are punched out. Please join us in the challenge over on Mark's Finest Paper's Blog and link your card there. CWC004_one layer card

I love this butterfly from Mark's Finest Papers. I love masking with it. One layer cards are so fun, inexpensive and easy to mail, so I love them. Adding scripture to my cards is another think I love to do, so it was a real joy making this card. Hope  you like it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Color Dare Challenge

This week's challenge is to use mambo melon, old olive, bermuda bay, and elegant eggplant. It had to be a quick card for me, so I riped a few pieces together and layered them. I stamped with old olive ink and kiwi kiss ink. I added some mini pink primas and added some purple rhinestones. The stamps are from Stampin' Up. I cuttlebugged the mambo melon piece just to add some texture. Hope  you will join us in the challenge and link your card over on the Color Dare blog.

Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday Challenge #67

I was so pleased at the quick turn around on my latest order from Flourishes and decided to use this stamp for today's challenge. We were to use chipboard on the card. I used a chipboad circle and stamped the compass onto the circle. I used morning sun cardstock from Mark's Finest Papers and a piece of Basic Grey dp. I used   twine to lace up the side of the card. I used some of my lighter colors of Copic markers to color the map. I colored the needles on the compass with a gold gel pen.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ 39

This is a very old stamp from my collection and love the vintage look of this little Campbell Soup kid.
The verse seems to fit perfect with the challenge that is going on over on Stampin' Sisters in Christ this week to use something musical. I added the little treble clef paper clip for an additional touch. I went for a distressed look for this with torn paper and ink distressed edges on the paper. The ripe tomato paper is from MArk's Finest Papers and the design paper is from Basic Grey. I used a piece of kiwi kiss cs and also kiwi ribbon.

Speedy's Friends Blog Challenge #3

This week is my week to present the challenge and I selected the spotlight technique. Here is the link to Beate's great tutorial on how to do one if you need a little direction:
spotlight technique

I stamped the palm of the Tropical Vacation set on the white panel. I stamped a portion of that stamp onto the white circle. I sponged color on for the sky in the cirlce, colored the palm with a copic marker, and with a dauber stamped the sun with orange ink.
Torn orange paper was placed across the black cardbase. I stamped the row of flowers on the orange. I added some baja breeze dp behind the circle and main image panel. I added the primas, punched some needle leaves and added that fabulous metal flower to the middle of the primas.

Hope you join Speedy's Friends in this week's challenge . Link your cards over at Mark's Finest Papers' Blog, Hope you enjoyed the May Blog Hop over at Mark's Finest Papers this week. Speedy's Friends DT is listed on my sidebar, so make sure you check all of those wonderful blogs as well.

Belli Challenge #91

Welcome to the Belli Challenge for this week. I think I took a little liberty with the use of hole punch. It might be more like punched hole for mine! I punched out a star shaped hole to make my stars. Our sponsor this week is SEW MANY CARDS,
where you can find some very adorable digital images in their store.

I used some Yum Yum's Blue eyes paper from Mark's Finest Papers as my cardbase. I used my copic markers to color the image and colored in the holes with Clear Star Jelly Roll pen ink.

Hope you join us over at Creative Belli Challenge blog this week and link up your creations using hole punches.

Color Dare #66

Today's colors are bashful blue, soft suede, old olive, crushed curry. I used a new set from Mark's Finest Papers called Tropical Vacation. I just thought it was perfect for these colors. I masked the background sky with a torn scrap of paper to make the cloud in the sky sponged with bashful blue ink. The sun is a punched circle. The metal flower is also from Mark's Finest Papers. Hope you join in on the fun over at Color Dare this week.

Color chef #50

This butterfly is from Mark's Finest Papers. I used it to mask and multistamp for this card. The colors to use in this challenge were greenish blue, black and white. I love this color combination so immediately wanted to play along. The border punches used on this card are both Martha Stewart punches. I embossed the sentiment to make it stand out in gold.

Speedy's Friends' Blog Challenge #2

Cathleen Torina is hosting our challenge this week. It is called "Just Around the Corner" and you are to use a corner punch on your card. I used the Ladybugs and Carnation set again this week, highlighting this lovely ornate little frame included in that set. The sentiments fit in very nicely. I punched the corners of the hazelnut tan  piece. I love diagonal lines on cards, so I used them in the tirangular pieces that were stamped also with that frame stamp to look like background paper. I punched the sides with a Martha Stewart punch. All the other supplies for this card are from Mark's Finest Papers.

You won't want to miss the other DT cards. You can find their links on the side bar.

Just Scraps challenge

I just discovered this challenge called Just Scraps challenge. This week the challenge was to use yellow! I find my scrap box to be a real source of inspiration for me. At a glance I can quickly grab pieces and see how they look together. I love making up cards that offer scriptures for my Bible study group and many Christian friends. Punching up scraps into leaves and flowers are another way I like to make use of those scraps. Thanks, Jean for the heads up about this challenge, and I plan to join you every week if I can.

Paper: scraps from K and Company, SU(soft suede, always artichoke, barely banana)
Stamp: Paper Trey Inks
Ink: soft suede

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge

The challenge was to make a card with your favorite flower. I love roses. They smell heavenly and they come in such a beautiful array of colors. I cuttlebugged the card base after inking the folder with so saftron ink. I stamped the rose on a piece of Basic Grey design paper and hightlighted the color with a copic marker. I cut one of my scalloped circle nestabilities and then cut it into a smaller slice, folded it like a fan, after cuttlebugging the piece. I sponged on some soft suede ink. All the stamping was done in soft suede as well. I added a yellow and white gingham. The rose and leaves are from the summer rose set from Mark's Finest Papers.

MOJO Monday 137

MOJO Monday over at Verve always helps me get my stamping week started. This stamp is my newest one from Verve in my collection of their stamps. I hit the scrap pile for the striped dp which was left over from a stamping club project. I really liked the way soft suede cardstock looked with these colors. I colored my image with my copics.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ #37

The challenge over on Stampin' Sister in Christ is to use faux stitches. I happen to have a stitch pattern stamp that I love and thought it perfect for this challenge. The scripture for the week is Psalm 139:13 and my favorite part of that scripture is "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made: I know that full well."

I used scraps from my scrap pile to make this card, which reminds me that God can take even the remnants of our lives  to turn us into beautiful creatures. May you have a blessed Sunday and I hope this finds you not only sitting on the premises, but standing on the promises!!
Stamps: Marks' Finest Papers
and the stitch stamp I don't remember
Ink: Old olive, tuxedo black
Papers: Stampin' Up, Basic Grey, and an unknow scrap

Crazy 4 Challenges #35

I thought this would make a great alternative type card for graduation rather than the usual cape and gown. This is a set from Mark's Finest Papers and I used  Cindy's sketch for the Crazy 4 Challenges for this week. The design paper was left over from my stamp group preparations and I hadn't had the chance to use this cute butterfly yet on anything. The blue and light green paper is from Mark's Finest Papers, the dp is from Paper Studio. I cut out the larger butterfly and popped it up with a piggybacked SU dimensional.
