The other day I got out a big tub of heart and Valentine stamps that haven't been used in a while. As you can see I used an ancient one on this cute sketch over on the Sketches for Fun to Try for January. I found this little scrap of Basic Grey with the hearts on it and then found this scrap of gingham and decided they looked pretty good together. The image is an old Stampin' Up (probably a Sellabration from years ago, and a sentiment from MFP (a Heinrich co.) It is fun to pull some of those oldies out to see what they look like on new sketches and with new embellishments.

I am getting a late start on this week's Flouishes' Timeless Tuesday challenge, but I finally found some time tonight to do it. I chose this stamp from Flourishes and used my favorite peachy color. I stamped the image with Memento
tuxedo black and colored it with copic markers.  I used my nestabilities to make my windows.

I took pictures of  the other parts of the card as well.

Another Fussy and Fancy

Another birthday card for the Fussy and Fancy challenge. The stamps are from Mark's Finest Papers (now a Heinrich Company). The paper looked like elephant hide to me. I stamped it with tuxedo black and colored it with copic markers.

CAS Friday 34

I've been trying to do at least one challenge a day and use at least two or three scraps from my paper piles as my new year's stamping resolution. Today I am doing the CAS-ual Friday challenge. I bought a whole bag of these glittery chipboard hearts so decided they would work perfect for this challenge and would add another Valentine to my collection. Check out this challenge HERE.

Color Throw Down Challenge 173

This week's colors for the Color Throw Down Challenge is red, black, and gray/silver. That is my all time favorite color combo especially for my Valentines. I used some silver cs that I embossed, a scrap of dp from Paper Studio, red scraps and put it on a black card base. I got out my Valentine tub of some old favorites that I haven't used in a while. This stamp is from an old SU retired set.  I added glittered chip board and black pearls with some silver metallic ribbon.

MOJO MONDAY 222

Happy New Year to you!! Course, every new year just brings me a few extra wrinkles but I'm hoping for the kind of year to SMILE through even if it does add a few more wrinkles. My stamping resolutions are to get back to some of the great card challenges that are available out there and discover a few new ones along the way. I will also continue on with last years, not because I didn't do it last year, but because I still have untouched scraps that I refuse to throw away. So, this card was made basically using design paper pieces I found in the pile. I'm afraid the cameras might show up any day now for that Hoarders show on tv about the obsessive packrats. I try to be organized but......some people might not agree...

{HSCRC12} Hymn #1 Amazing Grace

I decided it was time to get out of some of the things I have been obligated to so that I could make some time for just me, stamping what I want to stamp and maybe that would include stamping something special for me. A couple of years ago, I took part in Patter's Names for God challenge and made some wonderful little flip books with a scripture on each one. I just cherish those books. Last year I did not have time to take part because of some design team obligations and trying to sell my cards in some area shops. Letting those go for now, I decided that my stamping resolution would be to take part in some challenges I've been missing and trying some new ones I haven't ever done before. When I went to Patter's blog and saw this year she was going to be doing a hymn a week for the challenges, I just knew this was the little project I need to do just for me. Church music has always been the heart of worship for me, and even though I don't have a gorgeous solo voice, God did give me a decent alto voice to sing harmony with others. Besides, no where I have found that a perfect voice is required to worship God, it is only stated as "making a JOYFUL noise." When your heart is full of praise, God hears it with all the beauty necessary! It's good to be back doing these challenges. Here's my first hymn and I look forward to many favorites to follow. Not only are hymns inspiring in our faith, I have found that it helps me keep scriptures in my head better. May your new year be blessed with all the things that bring a song to your heart and the words of truth to your lips.
