CCEE1826 Relaxation challenge

This is Joanne's last challenge for us for June:

This week’s ‘theme’ is RELAXATION.  Create a card that depicts RELAXATION to you.  Can be a place where you are relaxed or what you do to relax.

Well, to me relaxation is getting to stroll along the beach with the seabreeze blowing on me and finding the little treasures that the ocean washes to shore. I love the sound of the ocean water rolling in on the waves , the smoothness of the wet sand, and finding those little shells that wash up on shore. Saltwater certainly runs in my veins and I can't think of anything more relaxing to me than getting away from the hectic life in the city.

Join us by linking your card to Mr. Linky over on the CCEE blog site you can find here If you post your card to SCS, please use CCEE1826 as your keyword. I would love to see your idea of relaxation too.

Red, white, and blue

I did this for the  CAS colors and sketches #278  and also for the Shopping our Stash #360 challenges. I love this singing cowboy from Deadbeat Stamps that are made in my home state of Texas, The paisley background stamp is from a retired Stampin' Up stamp. I used some glittered cs also on this card. I colored the image with copic markers.

CCEE1825

Week three of the June CCEE Stamps Challenge. Here is Joanne's  challenge for this week.

"As many of you know, the ocean is my favorite place….and my annual trip to Maine is sacred.  So, in honor of that, please create a card inspired by the ocean or beaches."

" Obviously I am very much looking forward to this week's gallery of creations.  Please play along with us."

I am with you, Joanne! The beach and ocean are my favorite escape for the summer as well. Check over on the CCEE blogsite to check all the sea creations of the team. If you load your card to SCS please use the CCEE1825 as your keyword.

I used two old Flourishes sets that I just love because collecting seashells at the beach are always one of my favorite things to do.

Rubbernecker challenge #36

A great patriotic theme is going on over on the Rubbernecker Blog challenge for the next 2 weeks. I love this tuba stamp I got from Rubbernecker Stamps a few months ago. I have a son who played a tuba, so I just had to have this stamp. The sentiment I used for this card is from Sweet and Sassy.

CCEE1824

This is for Joanne's Blooming Flowers challenge. I guess technically my daisies are no longer blooming as cut flowers in this jar, but wanted to use this stamp I have had for a while that needed some little love. I wanted to try out my new Nuvo Crystal Drops for the jar, too.

I hope this loads without a hitch as I will be in Baldwin, Louisiana working in the warehouse for UMCOR getting health kits, school kits, and flood buckets ready to be shipped to wherever they are needed around the globe. Last year in August when we served, we came home to face Harvey, and many of those flood buckets ended up in our communities right here in Texas. It would be my hope that these flood buckets could just sit on the shelves in that big warehouse and NO one will have need of them this hurricane season.

If you join in on the challenge, please use CCEE1824 as your keyword over on SCS. You can link your card to the CCEE blogsite HERE. Check out all the great cards the rest of the team did while you are there.

Color throwdown challenge 496 - aqua, black, white

I loved the colors for this week on the Color Throwdown Challenge and used the masculine theme that was on the Free for All challenge on SCS today. I combined them but using these terrific colors with this old favorite stamp from Stampin' Up. I stenciled a partial pattern on the white panel before stamping on the old Chevy. Then I added a few speckles from m favorite little "itty bitty backgrounds" stamp also from SU. Since I have been stamping for over 18 years now, I just can't justify keeping these oldie but goodies unless I use them. I inked the debossing side of my embossing folder with black ink and then ran it through my machine to create the card base texture.

CCEE1823 Using a Virgin stamp

Hello!!!  Joanne here to hostess the June Challenges.  Hope you enjoy them!!!  Here is the CCEE Stampers Challenge for the week.....

I don’t think  I am the only one with unused, or ‘virgin’, stamps.  This week I want you to go through your stash and ink those virgins to create this week’s card.

Can't wait to see your creations....please play along.

The butterflies are from a set that I have never used before.

Be sure to go over to the CCEEStampers website HERE to check on the great cards the team came up with for this challenge. If you play along and link over at SCS, please use the CCEE1823 as your keyword and link it on the blog.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge

I love this cute stamp with fun beverages for summer especially with as hot as summer seems to be arriving in my part of the world.  I used the sketch that was provided for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge this week and also I used the theme of DRINKS for the Ways to use challenge over on Splitcoaststampers. I gathered up some of my scraps from a scrapbox I keep near at hand to help supply the pieces for this sketch. You can find the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge HERE, and here is my link to my gallery on Splitcoaststampers. Have a happy summer!!

City Crafters Challenge #415

"Bake it Pretty" was the challenge theme this week on City Crafters. When I have lots of time for stamping in my week, I try to find some challenges that I don't usually get to take part in. And that was why I found myself on the City Crafters blogsite. You can find it HERE. The cake stamp is from Unity stamps and the mixer is from Stampabilities. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. Has you can tell I am loyal to none, but a customer of all. I used alcohol markers for coloring.

Try it on Tuesdays - She's got the look

"She's got the look" is the theme of the challenge for the Try It On Tuesday challenge this week. So my latest order from Unity included this beauty. I think she fits to requirement fairly well. I love paper piecing with Unity stamps and I love making smashed inked backgrounds with Distress Oxide inks so this card was total fun for me.

Here is where you can find that challenge: Try it on Tuesdays.

Retro Challenge #88

I made this card for the Retro Challenge that was a Anything Goes challenge. The main rule was to use stamps over 1 year old. Actually this hydrangea stamp is dated 2002. It is from Stampin' Up as is the sentiment stamp.  So you can tell by that one that I have been a serious stamper for close to 20 years. I sponged the color on with Distress Oxide inks. The butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart punch from a card front that was bleach stamped  for an earlier project and left in the scrap pile. Go check out the fun for yourself over at the Retro Challenge blogsite which can be found HERE.
