CCEE1739 Johnny Appleseed

Kelly is again our hrstess with this week's challenge ...
In honor of Johnny Appleseed and his kindness and generosity,
we've creating cards with anything apple related this week!

I used a Power Poppy digital that I colored with copic markers. The sentiment is computer generated.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the bottom edge. I loved the white background because it made my colors just popl  I colored with Copic markers and the white shine was acheived with a white galaxy marker.

The thing I love about digital images is that you can size them any size you would like.

Join us for this challenge and make sure you check out all the team's cards over on the CCEEstampers blogsite that you can find HERE.

SOS321 Apple of my eye

I made this card for the Shopping our Stash challenge 321 with the theme Apple of my Eye.
I love this digital print I got from Power Poppy. I colored it with copic markers, The sentiment is computer generated. I found this lovely sparkly red paper in my scraps, and decided the black background made it pop, One of my favorite color combos is red, white, and black, so I used it on this card.

CCEE1737

Kelly, our hostess for this week,  has chosen as our challenge this week for CCEE Stampers
an opportunity to  celebrate Roald Dahl Day!
For challenge #1737,  create a card using any one of his books as your inspiration.
There are so many ~ and Kelly being an avid reader,  hopes  you find a way to use them in this week's challenge.

The book I selected was James and the Giant Peach.  I used a peach from an old Flourishes set, I used a diecut of the city, and did some freehanded writing on my card this week.

Check out all the fun cards made by the team for this unique challenge at the blogsite:

Mod Squad challenge and Shop our stash challenge

This is for the Mod Squad challenge this week to use heat embossing, and the Shop our stash challenge to use both dry and wet embossing.  I dry embossed the background panel, and then I used versamark ink to stamp the image and then I covered with gold embossing powder. My photo does not do it much justice and the gold is not picking up in my artificial lighting that I am using for this nightime photography. I used copic markers to color in the image.

I used some brown ribbon for a band around the card, and then added some gold chord to pick up on the gold used for the embossing.

Wow, I was so pleased to see that this card was selected as one of the top 3 over at Shop Our Stash.

This card is for the Color Throw Down Challenge that can be found here. It's never too early to get going on those Christmas cards, so I am adding to my stash so I have less cards to have to get made in December.  I send different cards to everyone, so it is easier to do all along the way as the year progresses. I used Oxide distress ink on this, and Unity and Stampin' Up stamps. The holly leaves are a diecut.

Dragonfly Journeys True Blue challenge #100

How fun to see this challenge  taking place for the Dragonfly Journeys's 100th challenge! Trying out some of the new blue shades I have in my Distress Oxide Inks I created this background, then I stamped the large medallion is the darkest blue. I did this on watercolor paper. Then on white cardstock I stamped the girl. I colored her with copic markers and cut her out and placed her on the cards with dimensionals to pop her out a bit.  I like the way this turned out.

You can find the Dragonfly Journeys' challenge here.   https://dragonflyjourneys.blogspot.com/

Sweet stampin' - Wet Embossing

Just getting back into my stamp room after a week of dealing with Hurricane Harvey. Praise God that He kept water from entering my house. It is good to get back to stamping. I found this challenge at Sweet Stampin' to do a challenge using wet embossing. My stamps I used are from Unity. The ink for the background is Distress Oxide inks and I used Versamark for the embossing powder. I used white and gold embossing powders. You can find this challenge here: http://sweetstampinchallengeblog.blogspot.com/

CFC181

After a week of dealing with Hurricane Harvey, I am trying to get some of my mojo back in the stamp room. I found this CAS-ual Friday challenge #181 using kraft and white as the colors. I used an embossing folder that was inked with versamark on it and smashed the paper inside the folder.  Then I used white embossing powder on it and got the embossing gun on it. Then I stamped this Unity image onto my white circle. I die cut the white leaves and to fill a little more of the white circle I inked the embossing folder with tan ink and used it as a stamp for the edge.  This is the first time I have tried used a dry embossing folder to acheive wet embossing. I liked the results.
