CAS on Sunday #75 Paper Piecing
Paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques, so I thought I'd add this to the CAS on Sunday challenge. I decided I needed a few more Valentines, so I used this heart from my stamp stash using some red polka dotted design paper for the heart. I had some ink still on my embossing folder left from a previous project and ran it through my Cuttle Bug. Pretty clean and simple and then stamped the Love to the other side. A quick and easy Valentine.

ccee1604 chocolate cake
It's Frances back today with her last challenge for the month.
Who doesn't love chocolate cake! Did you know they even have a special day to celebrate this yummy treat! Chocolate Cake Day was the 27th January. Your cards this week should feature cake, bonus points if it is chocolate cake.
We'd love to have you play along. All you have to do is create something using the above challenge, and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword CCEE1604. Don't forget to come back here and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see your card too.
I decided that cupcakes would have to do as mini cakes for me!! I decided on a long card format, and using pink, brown, and lime as my color scheme. Cupcakes are always a reason to celebrate!! These stamps are some of those cute, cheap stamps that you can find at Michael's in their bargain bins. I can hardly resist any cute stamp and when it fits my budget as well as they do, I add them to the rubber stash!!
Color Throw Down Challenge 377
It's been a while since I have had time to play in a few other challenges and today I chose to do the Color Throw Down challenge of using yellow, craft, and gray. I searched my paper stashes to find something with gray, not a color I use often. I found this old piece of Basic Grey dp and some yellow plaid dp and went with it. I stamped in London fog ink using an old retired Stampin' Up set for the sentiment. It doesn't show too tell, but Ileft it with that subtle look. I also used a Sizzix pie and some SU punches.

CCEE1603 Opposites
Frances is again our hostess and her challenge is this:
Did you know that the 25th January is National Opposite Day? For our challenge this week make a card/project that has opposites on it. Think opposite colors on the color wheel, stripes and polka dots, black and white, mirror image, etc.
We'd love to have you play along. All you have to do is create something using the above challenge, and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword CCEE1603. Don't forget to come back here and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see your card too. Check the other gals wonderful cards for this challenge while you are on the CCEE blog site.
I have to admit this was very challenging to me. But I thought about this old retired Stampin' Up set I have always loved and have kept in my stamp collection. It looks great when it is embossed, so using the opposite colors of black and white and crossing the card with a diagonal cut using opposite corners, I went with this clean and simple style of card in design. It will be fun to see what the team comes up with for this challenge.

Stretch Yourself Challenge at Power Poppy
Getting a little time today to do some cards and seek out some challenges going on. This card is for the Power Poppy challenged that can be found here. I used my digital tulips from Power Poppy for the image and the sentiment is from Power Poppy as well. I am trying a little reversed kind of embossing on this Putting ink on the embossing folder and doing only a partial part of the card was a new try for me.

CCEE1601 Tea time
Not being a coffee drinker, I have to say enjoying my hot tea from a wide selection of flavors is rather cozy on a cold winter day. Frances, our hostess this month, reminds us that it is Hot Tea Month and asked us to make a tea themed card for the challenge. My teapot is from one of the first stampsets I bought from Paper Trey Inc. I has great little teapots and wonderful sentiments that fit them perfectly for this "tea themed" challenge.
I hope you join in on the fun, and use the CCEE1601 keyword on your card if you download it to Splitcoaststampers. Also stop by the CCEEStampers blog to see the other creative ideas the CCEE team has loaded over there, and you can link your card there too.

Sharing God's Words in unique ways
This Bible journaling is one of the best new year's resolutions I have ever taken on. I enjoy this time of reflecting on the words of truth the Lord has given us, and creating a way to display them in this very special book. I hope my children and grandchildren will find it a very special heirloom in years to come.
I pick one of my favorite verses from that particular page, sketch it in pencil, trace over it in Micron pen, and color. I have collected some wonderful zentangling art on my pinterest board which helps me with ideas for patterns and lettering to use.
This one I just wanted to do in black and white.
I am also doing a daily devotional challenge that my
church is doing. It is using Tim Keller's The Songs of
Jesus. This one I decided to do for the Psalm that I had
read for that day.

My 2016 project - Bible Journaling (Art)
I have been inspired by fellow artist friends who have been Bible Journaling for some time now, and when I recently stopped by the Family Christian bookstore with a gift card I wanted to use, I found this fabulous little Bible for journaling on a half price table. That is all it took for me to get busy with this little project. I try to do at least one a day. I randomly open the Bible and start reading. If I come up with an idea I pencil it in, trace over the pencil with micron pen and then I have been coloring it in with colored pencils.
I hope as we are going into this new year, you have decided on some little project for you to invest some time in and grow a little in your talents, your knowledge, and perhaps even better understanding of your faith and God's word. Blessings to you in 2016!!
