COF August Challenge

The challenge was to make a monochromatic card using the color of your birthstone as the color. My birthday is in August and is the peridot. So I used various shades of yellowish green for my card.  Hope you will go by and check out all the beautiful cards of my Christian sisters:

WAW 43

Isn't it just like God to send you just to the passage you need for a card, and wasn't it great I found it on today's challenge at Word Art Wednesday?  I have so many friends who are need of healing prayers and the devotional I read this morning said that the key to the Master's  orders is prayer.

One of the design team's card had this scripture printed directed onto a piece of design paper. Why I hadn't ever done that, I don't know. That inspiration gave me this idea.. So on this pretty plaid, I printed out this scripture from 3 John.

Have a blessed Wednesday and take notice of all those around you who are ripe for the picking.

COF August Challenge

I was to hostess for the August challenge and I asked the ladies to make a monochromatic card in the color shades of their birthstone color. August is my birth month so peridot is my birthstone. I love this shade of green and I made this card for my sister, Lynn. I used Verve stamps, kiwi paper and ink from Stampin' Up and some great design papers. The gemstones are actually green although they look clear in the photo.

This is for today's Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday Challenge to use purple and blue. The violet image is from Flourishes, the diecuts by Spellbinder. The blue lacey punched edge is a Martha Stewart punch, and the white is actual lace.

SSIC134

Today's challenge on Stampin' Sisters in Christ is to use a diecut, punches, or shapes. I used a Spellbinder label diecut and I cut my Paper Trey Ink flower to the shape of the image. The design paper I used is from Basic Grey. I also let this be my Free for All challenge card to use lots of color. This sentiment is from Layers of Color. These are encouraging words and I think bright colors encourage our spirits to be lifted as well. Hope you are having a blessed Sabbath.

Word Art Wednesday 8_22

Our joy comes from the Lord. This card involves no stamping. I printed out the scripture on the computer, embossed the paper, and punched out the flowers and leaves. Today I am praising God for some good news from a friend on her health tests. I am praising God that I woke up this morning. To Him be all glory and honor.

HM - Double Trouble

I made this card for the House Mouse weekly challenge which is called Double Trouble. These two little mice seem to be making a real explosion of a celebration with these burning birthday candles. I used some Basic Grey design paper mounted onto a yoyo yellow cardbase. The image was colored with copic markers.

Customer Card Carnival

This is for the Customer Card Carnival going on over at Verve for their big anniversary celebration.
This cross and cross diecut and the sentiment are from Verve. This is a sympathy card for a friend who lost her mother in law last week. The little rose embellishments are from Reflections and the other diecuts are from Spellbinderand the design paper is Basic Grey.

SSIC153

This week's challenge was to use sentiment only without stamping an image. I used this pretty sentiment from ODBD. I punched one edge with a Martha Stewart punch and added diecuts and primas that I sponged with darker brown.I like these shades of green and browns together.

I missed getting to do last week's challenge over on Word Art Wednesday, and I loved this quote from Mother Teressa, so I had to get this one done tonight.  The design paper is from Basic Grey. I used a couple of Martha Stewart punches on this card and a Spellbinder diecut frame.Buttons are a favorite of mine so used them inside the lacy circles. There is no stamping on this card.

I wanted to do Cindy's challenge this week to use kraft paper on the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge I embossed the kraft paper and then with a brayer added some close to cocoa ink on it. The zinnias are from Flourishes and I colored them with my copic markers. Everything else is Spellbinders. Added ribbon as my only other embellishment. It's been a busy week but I just had to get at least one card stamped this week.

CFC65

My square card for CFC65. This coffee set is from Flourishes. Thought I would add the swirls for a little steam for the background. This is my first stamp I ever purchased from Flourishes and it remains one of my favorites.

FLLCAUGRW2

I had such a busy week last week trying to keep up with the Dare To Get Dirty challenges over on Splitcoast stampers, that I had to catch up on all the other things around here that got neglected because of my non-stop stamping marathon I had going. I got motivated today when I saw the new stamps Flourishes is releasing this week and the challenges they had going. I just adore their wonderful floral stamps, and I used one of my newest ones today. Loved these fall colors. It gets me in the mood for cooler weather that is a long time away for my part of Texas, but oranges are my favorite colors.

FLLCAUGRW1

I used this card for the texture challenge over at Flourishes FLLCAUGRW1 challenge, and it also fit Dawn's F4A challenge for ombre, mon amie to make a color "morf" into another one.  I added Flower soft for my texture. I'm not too good with that media, but had it in yellow so it went with these colors.

JUGS148

Making use of a pretty piece of Basic Grey design paper, I used the Just Us Girls layout for this week's challenge. I love this pretty set from Verve. The flowers seemed perfect for this challenge.

SS#20

Limes, lemons, and oranges. How bright and refreshing that kind of a challenge is. The inspiration piece made me think of this little stamp I have from Stampin' Up. The sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink. I used yoyo yellow ink, tangerine, and pear tart.

Basic Grey Bright and Bold

I just really don't do bright colors very often, especially so many all together on the same card. But this pad of Basic Grey had this piece that certainly meets the requirement for bright and bold. I pulled out some old yoyo yellow. Remember that stuff??? I love Basic Grey papers and don't get to take part in their challenges very often. Decided today would be the day!!!

SSIC #151

The challenge over on Stampin' Sisters in Christ is to make a baby card or a card using pastels. I guess I did both. I can hardly make a baby card in anything but pastels. I love pastels and the colors just seem so calming and sweet like a gentle sleeping baby. I love this set from Flourishes and this paper from Basic Grey is just so pretty. I can't believe I found this scalloped circle already cut and lying on my table of scraps that I had not used earlier this week. It made a pretty frame around this sweet image. The final touch was adding those tiny seed pearls to the front of the baby onsie on the line. Have a blessed week and spend some time in God's words so that your mind and soul receive the divine nourishment it longs for.

WAW#39

Had to take a break from my Dare to Be dirty marathon I've been doing for the last 5 days. I've done 26 cards during that time span, so getting this one done was somewhat of a challenge too. LOL Not too much stamping on this one that shows up. I tried to stamp some white flourishes on the black cardbase, but it just didn't show up much, so I added the white pearls.
