Starting a prayer file

This challenge by the Kitchen Sink Crew motivated me to start a prayer file for those whom I need to pray for each day. I just freehanded the sentiment, and of course, I used the KS rose. I just love that stamp!!

Fly on by!

You've got to go to Digital Stamp Oasis to see these great new images just released. Is this not the cutest thing for a little boy's birthday or even a big boy's birthday for that matter!!! I love the fact that I can size these images to the size I would need for my card. That is a great advantage over rubber images.

Hebrews 1:19

This is a page for my scripture project that I have been making this year, and it also was my ways to use challenge today making use of all white. Any color had to be white paper altered. I embossed the heart using white craft ink and clear embossing powder. Then I sponged on pink pirouette and regal rose ink.I cuttlebugged (my favorite tool, BTW) the background and used one of my cuttlebug diecuts as well. The scripture was cut with an oval scalloped nestablities run through my cuttlebug, of course. The scripture is computer generated making use of a font I found on a disc I bought at Hobby Lobby by Autumn Leaves and the font was called Playbook. I've gotten many comments on this font that I have used often for scriptures. So this is my week's scripture as a way to share God's words of truth to brighten the corner where I am. It is my prayer that God anoints you with the oil of JOY!

Color Throw Down Challenge #39

I did this card for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge of real red, black, and barely banana. I did the shading on the rose with my buttercup yellow copic marker and thought it was perfect. I also used it to color over my ivory brads to get them the color I wanted. I love that about copics. You can color your white primas and white brads to perfectly match them to your colors. I probably should have added a back layer on this card. But I guess I was conserving cardstock!!??

Spotlighting technique with the love birds

I thought this image from Digital Stamp Oasis would be fun to use for the spotlighting technique. I cuttlebugged the background, which I think gave it a look of elegance.

Bluebonnets in Texas

It's heaven on earth in Texas this time of year. Thought I'd share some of these beautiful Texas bluebonnets with you. These were some batches we found just outside Brenham, Texas.

Color Throw Down #38

This is for this week's Color Thrown Down Challenge (number 38). The colors are ruby red, baja breeze, and basic gray. I stamped the natural white with bella toile with baja breeze ink. I stamped the lilies from Fifth Avenue Florals on ruby red cardstock and then cut them out and added copic markers to do some shading on the lilies. The dots are done with a black Spica metalic pen. The punches are SU's large oval punch, and the border punch is from Martha Stewart as is the leaf punch.

Do you have a few really great stamps that you found for a bargain and just couldn't pass it up? I have lots of them, and I'm sad to admit this, but some have not even been inked. That is the case with this great image from Stamps Happen, Inc. But today, it just seemed to be the perfect stamp for this week's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I outlined the musical notes with a Spica black sparkle pen and added the little dots with my favorite little stamp of all time from Stampin' Up's itty bitty background stamp set.
I hope this card reminds you of some neglected stamp you have stuck away somewhere that really needs the chance to be featured on some terrific card. I collect stamps because I love them and usually buy only those I love the design or image of so I never seem to part with them either. I really need to highlight more of them in my cardmaking because they do certainly hold their value I think.

Last night I went to church and celebrated the Lord's Supper in a very moving way. Today is Good Friday and I just had to create a card to remind others of that. May we be reminded of the great love God has for us sending His only begotten Son, our Lord to bring us our salvation. Have a blessed Easter season full of God's glory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lovely Lavender Lizards for Linda

This is for Rubberneckers Wacky Wednesday challenge that I happen to be doing on a Thursday. It was a color challenge to use lavender, pink, and purple. This lizard stamp is of course, one of my favorites from Rubbernecker Stamps so I just had to use it. Doesn't it look awesome in lavender? So Linda, I thought this alliteration was great to use for this card as well, so I entitled it Lovely Lavender Lizards for Linda!!!

Susie Squirrel Just for You

I had such fun with this image from Digital Stamp Oasis. Is little Susie Squirrel the cutest thing offering this pretty spring bouquet? All the paper I used was from Stampin' Up and the leaf punch is by Martha Stewart. I experimented with some of my latest Nestabilities to see what they looked like together.

Susie Squirrel in this perfect image for spring looks lovely in these soft colors. I cuttlebugged the soft sky background and used my oval scalloped nestabilities around the image. These are images from Digital Stamp Oasis and are so fun to color with copic markers.

Scripture for this week

I love playing with my different fonts I have loaded into my computer and printing out scriptures make the choices of verses endless. I used pocket silhouettes stamped onto SU design paper for this one. I put all of my scriptures on a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 piece of cardstock and place it on a ring. This hangs on a peg in my stamproom and I love that I can browse through my collection to use that scripture for my day. I thank Patter Cross for the motivation to be creating this little book of scriptures. It is by far the best thing I have ever created and certainly the most useful and meaningful.

Digital Stamp Oasis images perfect for Easter

I just think this cute image from Digital Stamp Oasis is a perfect Easter card with lots of opportunity to use lots of color. I did this card for Roxi's Sketch challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers. I used my copics to add the color to the image. The background papers are by Basic Grey and imaginisce. I thought this riding hood red cardstock made a great background card for all of these splashes of color.

My card for the FTTC9 Challenge

This is for Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday Challenge for this week. We were to go green and make use of something that might be trashed or recylced. I used my chipboard rims left over from my SU's on board lots of letters. I just love these sweet peas. Just got them end of last week, and I think they are one of my all time favorite stamps. Check out the details for the challenge here. I keep hoping one day to be randomly selected for the prize they give away each week. I figure if I don't play, I can't win. So, here is my card for the week.
