Crafters of Faith October challenge

The scripture for my challenge is:
"But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good, salvation comes from the Lord." Jonah 2:9

And here is my challenge theme:
I love music and a "song of thanksgiving" surely pleases the Lord. Never does He speak that the songs of our hearts need to be perfectly performed to be a joyful sound to Him. So, think of some ways you can make a joyful sound to the Lord your God. The challenge this month will be to use a musical instrument image, musical score paper, musical note brads, etc. Whatever you have in your stash that is of the musical nature!

This guitar stamp is a multi-layered stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps. My sweet sister, Lynn, who is on the Kitchen Sink Design Team, asked Maria, the creator and founder of Kitchen sink stamps, to create this stamp. It is very dear to me and looks just like the guitar I have. The sweet little paper roses were created by MariLynn DeGroot who is a faithful stamper over on Splitcoaststampers. She sent them to me for my birthday, and they are so special to me.

FTTC243

I did a little fussy cutting on this. I love roses and thought I would try to make these some fall colors.
The images are from Flourishes and are colored with Copic markers.

CAS on Sunday #19 Get Well card

I made this card for my great niece, Piper, since she has been hospitalized this week. I hope she gets to come home today and she is feeling better. Since this is a CAS challenge, I did not color the House Mouse image. Thought the band-aid made the perfect embellishment. You can find the CAS on Sunday challenge here.

Tuesday Throwdown 169 - Pumpkins

This is for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge #169, which is to use pumpkins. I got out my Kitchen Sink Stamps' pumpkin set. Kitchen Sink Stamps are uniquely designed to stamp 3 or 4 layers to give the image a photographic look. They are so realistic looking and Maria does some amazing images that capture the actual look of what they are. If you have never used these multi-layered stamps, you should give it a try. They are fun and you will be amazed at the results. My sister, Lynn who you might know as Allee's over on Splitcoaststampers, is a real master at these types of stamps and uses them in most of her stamped cards.
Hope everyone is enjoying some of the wonderful things fall brings. I especially love orange so the fall colors are breathtaking to me. Happy fall, Y'all!

ODBDSLC174 Stamp a background

I used the set God's Love to make this card. The two step butterfly I used for the background using one one of the steps. I did both steps for the butterfly I placed on the front of the card. I mounted the pink card onto a black card base. You can find the ODBDSLC here.

JUGS210

This is for the Just Us Girls challenge to inset diecut pieces together like puzzle pieces. This was fun and I made use of some scraps of design paper that have been in my scrap basket. I decided this might make a cute little Christmas card.  Check out this challenge here:

SOS 122

I am always needing to use things from my stash. In this case I am using some wired ribbon that I have had for quite some time. I made use of two different embossing folders. One side I embossed on vellum, the other side I embossed on metallic design paper. I rubbed my tuxedo black pad over the design paper after it was embossed so that it would pick up the embossed pattern a little better. I used my new Sweet and Sassy stamp I received this week. The diecut for the frame is one of the older ones in my Spellbinder collection. It fit this stamp nicely. The cardstock base is some brilliant blue scraps I still had lying around from an earlier project. This is for the Shop Our Stash Challenge #122  that was to use two types of embossing on the card. You can check out the challenge here.

ODBDSLC173

I made vellum leaves and punched some leaves for my fall leaves, because I wanted to just use ODBD stamps on this card and I don't have any of their stamps with leaves.I love this cross for fall  cards. So perfect around Thanksgiving.  Check out this challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs here.

WT447, C4C205, CBC179

I don't usually combine challenges because the more cards I can make the better I like it. But, I have 5 banners I need to be making instead of my cardmaking and decided to do a little combining here. While looking for another stamp I ran across this old Stampin' Up set called Heaven Sent from 2004. Decided to give it a little love today and inked it up. I am using this card for the WT447 challenge to use ribbon, the C4C205 challenge to use a bow, and the CBC 179 challenge to use ribbon and pearls. Since it's Breast Cancer awareness Month, I just had to use pink and plan to add this card to the pile I will be mailing to MD Anderson, here in Houston. I love October and sending these cards for patients' use.

WAW 100

Wow, this is one of my favorite scriptures, and today at my Bible study we studied this very verse at Merry Ministries. We are now in my favorite season of the year with the rish wonderful colors of fall. So, I made use of them on this card. Hope this finds you living God's purpose in this season of your life If you see God working in something today, that is your invitation to get involved. Happy fall!
